Lab Created Diamond – Real Vs Fake Identification

0

The popularity and price of diamonds have inspired several industries to prepare fake diamonds, like cubic zirconia, designed purposely to mimic natural diamonds. Unfortunately, simply looking at a diamond from a lab created diamond can’t always tell if it’s real or fake.

Fortunately, we can find out the truth in many ways. Diamonds are a big investment. Lab created diamonds are probably less expensive. Does it instigate the feeling – are Lab Grown diamonds fake? It’s a big NO. Lab diamonds are the same as natural diamonds.

Unlike natural diamonds, which are mined from the ground, lab-produced diamonds are generated using Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) or High-Pressure Crystal Formation (HPCF) (HPHT). Carbon atoms are extracted from high-pressure vapor in a chamber to make diamonds.

The diamond is created layer by layer in this method. The process usually takes three months, but it might take longer. It is because real diamonds can take several years to form inside the Earth’s crust.

They’re formed of the same components as earth-grown diamonds and have the same key features. Even the most seasoned gemologists cannot distinguish them simply from feel or look. Diamonds made in a lab are just as beautiful and durable as natural diamonds, but they are much less expensive.

Below we will mention some identifications to distinguish between real vs fake lab grown diamonds. Hope this will help you choose a real lab created diamond. Let’s have a walk through this article.

How do you know if a lab-created diamond is real or fake?

You have two options for evaluating whether a diamond is real or fake. The first alternative is to solicit the help of a professional who can do a diamond test using advanced equipment.

You can also use a few at-home methods to determine whether your lab grown diamonds are real or fake if you don’t want to hire a professional.

How to Tell if a Diamond is Real: Tests to be Performed at Home

Lab-created diamonds are not fake diamonds, contrary to popular assumption. It’s only that they’re created in various places. However, there are a few variations between the two that you should know.

While there are no foolproof ways to tell if a diamond is real or fake, there are some that are remarkably accurate. You’ll only need a few ordinary household items. These methods will assist you in determining whether or not a diamond was made in a lab –

THE SANDPAPER TEST

It’s a really simple test for which you need sandpaper and a bit of elbow grease. To begin, rub the stone with the grittier side of the sandpaper.

Because diamonds are one of the toughest minerals on the planet, sandpaper will have no effect on them and they should remain in great shape. If it’s a fake diamond, though, it will scrape.

THE READ-THROUGH TEST

The read-through test is exactly what it sounds like: it’s a diamond test in which you try to read a paragraph all the way through. Any diamond that is not mounted in a setting or item of jewelry, often known as loose diamonds, can be tested using this procedure. For the read-through test, follow these steps:

  • Get a piece of paper with plain black writing.
  • Turn the diamond repeatedly.
  • To read the writing on the paper, look through the upturned diamond.

While reading through a real diamond is difficult, fake diamonds will allow you to read the words on the paper.

THE SPARKLE EXAMINATION

A stone’s genuineness is shown by the way it refracts and reflects light. The sparkle test at home is a visual examination of the stone’s behavior under light. Because the inherent light refraction of a stone cannot be changed, the gem’s light refraction, or lack thereof, is usually correct.

Natural stones have more iridescent colors than synthetic stones, like cubic zirconia. Look for hues of grey in light reflections. Natural stones have more iridescent colors than synthetic stones like cubic zirconia. Natural diamonds have a more grey colour to them.

WATER TEST

Get a glass and fill it halfway with water for the water test. Carefully place the loose diamond in the glass of water. If the stone falls in value, you’ve discovered a true diamond. If it floats beneath or on the water’s surface, it’s a fake diamond. Real diamonds have a high density, whereas imitation diamonds do not.

THE HEAT TEST

Expose a lab-grown diamond to an open but controlled flame (like a lighter) for 30 to 45 seconds to properly conduct the heat test. Place the stone in a jar of chilly water right after it has been heated.

Diamonds are good at conducting heat and dissipating it evenly throughout the stone, but imitation diamonds aren’t. Anything other than real diamonds will be ruined by the intense heat and abrupt switch to chilly water.

How to Know if a Diamond is Real: Ask a professional

If you don’t have time to do any of the at-home diamond tests or don’t trust yourself and want a second opinion, the best thing to do would be to take your stone to a qualified gemologist. It’s worth noting, too, that not all jewelers are gemologists.

Here at Loose Grown Diamond, we have expert gemologists who can assist you. Consider them your go-to resource for navigating our vast database of diamonds. They will assist you in establishing the authenticity of a diamond.

A qualified gemologist will do more than the simple tests you can do at home when you bring your diamond to them. Instead, they’ll use a variety of expert methods and tests to establish whether the diamond is genuine or not.

DIAMOND TESTING USING A LOUPE

A loupe is a magnifying glass used to inspect diamonds and other jewels. Professionals will examine the diamond under a loupe for any flaws or defects. A fake diamond will not have inclusions, however a genuine diamond will have microscopic flaws called inclusions.

THE DIAMOND TESTER TOOL

This diamond lighter test, also known as the Thermal Conductivity Probe, is used to assess thermal conductivity. After being warmed, real diamonds distribute heat quickly, whereas imitation diamonds scatter heat more slowly.

HIGH-PROFILE WEIGHING

It is the use of a finely tuned scale for measuring slight differences in weight. With this scale, gemologists can use 1200x magnification on a power microscope to examine the stone or conduct X-ray examinations to determine whether a diamond is fake or real.

Conclusion

Any of these methods can help you determine whether a lab created diamond is fake or real. But the best way to avoid any doubt about the authenticity of your diamond or stone is to verify its authenticity before purchasing it and to only buy from a reputable source. Whenever you buy a lab created diamond look for the GIA or IGI certification. Buy your precious diamonds from the GIA or IGI certified jeweler’s only.

Five Tips for Organizing Your Life

0

The world is in transition and people around the globe are having to go from their slower-paced pandemic lives back to the rat race. This can be an overwhelming time for many, but fortunately, it doesn’t necessarily have to be. If you’re not used to being busy, or you simply want to utilize methods that will help you get organized and curb the stress in your personal and professional lives, luckily there are a variety of things that can help. Below are five tips to help you organize your life during this strange, unprecedented time.

Use a Communal Calendar

One thing you should utilize to get organized is a communal calendar. This is a calendar that you make online and use with your family and friends. Not only will it help you plan more effectively, but you will also have a better grasp on everyone else in the family. If you’re married in a two-career household with kids, life can be pretty overwhelming at times. A calendar for everyone’s appointments will simplify your schedules and make everything a lot clearer. You won’t have to guess when the doctor’s appointments or lunch dates are. Everything will be there in front of you to plan and fit in things that you want to do.

Utilize Notes

Whether you write things down or have a notes app like the Evernote app (https://evernote.com/features/notes-app), you should definitely utilize note-taking. An app on your phone is especially helpful because you can jot down things you need to remember wherever you are and input them into your calendar, make a call, schedule an appointment, and do whatever else you need to do. Your mind only has room for so many things. Help yourself by freeing up space. Write the things that you may forget down and you will be able to return to them when you have the chance.

Clear Your Desk Space

Another thing you should do to organize your mind is to organize your physical surroundings. Are you a student? Do you work from home? Whatever your situation, clearing your desk and keeping it clean and organized will make a huge difference when it comes to how you feel in your daily life. A clean work space will help you get more done and feel better while you’re working. You’ll be surprised just how much it helps you when you’re busy and need to focus on the task at hand.

Delegate Tasks & Chores

If you are the head of the household or take on most tasks, you probably get stressed and overwhelmed by it all. One way to cut down on this anxiety and clutter in your mind is to delegate tasks and chores. You should give your partner, kids, roommates, and others tasks they can handle that would alleviate your schedule. Depending on who you live with, creating a chore schedule will greatly facilitate the organization and atmosphere of the household. You might think that if you want something done right, you should do it yourself. But this isn’t true. Delegating tasks and chores is the thing to do.

Set Reasonable Goals & Priorities

For over a year, it was easy not to plan for the future. Now that expectations are returning, you should set goals and priorities that are reasonable. Setting goals is absolutely necessary but keeping them within reason will help you accomplish them and avoid getting disappointed. Life is changing and speeding up once again. To keep with it all — and feel like you’re not getting life behind you — you should set aside your priorities and make sure that those things get done before anything else. When you have a list or category of everything that’s important to you for the year, it will be a lot easier to stay on task.

The transition of post-pandemic life won’t be easy, but it doesn’t need to be difficult either. You can work towards changing your life and getting more organized. It isn’t just your physical space that needs to be cleared, which is also important, you need to clear your mind and make your schedule easy to read. When you feel stressed and anxious, utilize these five tips to help organize your life and make it more productive.

How to Build Client Trust As a Plumber

0

Customer trust is the foundation of any successful company. Trust does not only increase customer loyalty, but it also improves business reputation and gives you a competitive edge.

However, building customer trust, particularly as a plumber, is not easy. It takes time and effort, but that does not mean it is not doable.

So, how do you build trust with your customers as a plumber?

Tips for building client trust as a plumber

  • Clear communication and transparency

Building a solid trust relationship with clients starts with good communication. From the first point of contact with your client, be open and transparent with your communication. If your communication with your clients does not put their needs first, you may not earn their trust.

For that reason, be ready to answer every question the client may have and communicate with them the project’s progress through every step, even when you bear bad news. That way, your client can manage their expectations and see you as a trustworthy plumber you.

  • Focus on consistent pricing

Potential customers don’t want to see consistent math mistakes or pricing errors with every estimate.

Instead, they want to get accurate, timely, and professional-looking job estimates that will help them understand which services are covered and whether the overall project is within their budget. Using accurate estimates will help them see you as a trustworthy and credible contractor, thus convincing them to agree to the job.

However, creating an accurate estimate yourself can be a challenge. You are likely to make errors when entering data and doing calculations. Fortunately, using a plumbing estimate template can help maximize pricing accuracy and impress your clients.

  • Customer service

Customers love excellent service. In fact, it is the number one reason why most businesses win repeat customers.

So, make sure you are available to pick up on incoming calls during all business hours and have a well-trained team that will do the job right the first time. More importantly, be respectful of your customers’ time and keep every promise your make. That way, your customers will speak highly of you, making others see you as the trustworthy plumbing contractor you are.

  • Be reliable

Reliability is critical in building trust with your clients. That is why you need to carry yourself in a way that portrays you as a reliable brand.

An excellent way to do this is by completing your milestones in time and being accurate and thorough at every project step. In other words, don’t rush through the project just to complete the job and receive final payment, no matter the project’s magnitude.

If you encounter complications, let the client know and communicate how you plan to handle the challenge and how the new changes will affect the project timeline. As a result, your clients will see a reliable plumber, and you will be their go-to person every time they have a plumbing issue.

  • Collect testimonials

Testimonials are an excellent way of building trust with clients and converting undecided clients into paying clients. Customers are likely to believe what their peers say about a business than what it says about itself.

Therefore, ensure that you include a testimonial page on your website where customers can leave their feedback. More importantly, make sure you ask clients to leave a review on your website or social media page. If you are confident you have delivered to your client’s expectations, they will always be willing to leave a positive review and give a high rating, which will help others see you as a trustworthy plumbing contractor.

    0

During a press conference yesterday, the Governor of North Carolina urged all citizens to get a COVID-19 vaccine and wear face masks indoors following the CDC’s new guidance that recommends everyone within counties rated as ‘high’ for community transmission wear coverings indoors, even if they have been vaccinated.

Governor Cooper also announced a new executive order that requires state employees to get vaccinated before returning to work if they have not already done so.

The Governor’s new executive order specifically states:

“The undersigned has also determined that workers at Cabinet agencies must either be vaccinated or be regularly tested to ensure that they are not spreading COVID-19 to their fellow employees and members of the public. Section 4 of this Executive Order requires the Office of State Human Resources and all Cabinet agencies to implement these measures. The undersigned also has determined that Face Coverings should be required for unvaccinated workers at Cabinet agencies in many situations. Non-Cabinet agencies, state universities, and state commissions, local governments and school systems, and private businesses and organizations are strongly encouraged, at a minimum, to enact the same measures.”

6 Ways Businesses Can Benefit From Safe Building Design And Construction

    0

If you follow the world’s latest news, you’ve definitely heard of building collapses that have left many people dead and others fighting for their dear lives. Such incidents come as a shock and you can only hope that you’ll never be a victim of such. To avoid such incidents, it’s in your best interest to ensure that the building you do business in is structurally sound. Here’s how your business can benefit from safe building design and construction:

    1. Reduced Risk Of Death

When a story building collapses, heavy structural components can fall on the occupants and kill them instantly. Suppose all your employees are in their offices within the building when the accident happens. You risk losing all of them at the spur of a moment. And, thereafter, the loss of lives may take a toll on your emotional well-being. It might be difficult to gather the strength to continue with the same business.

To avoid such a loss, you need to ensure that the building housing your business is safe. For more insight into what elements of the building you should focus on when assessing its stability, read this article.

    1. Guaranteed Business Continuity

If you operate from a safely designed building, it’s highly unlikely that your business operations will come to a halt due to mass casualties. Your employees will always be there to handle their respective duties.

Also, your business equipment will always remain in usable condition. Think about computers, printers, copiers, scanners, production machinery, desks, chairs, and the like. They’re critical for the day-to-day success of your business. And therefore, you must ensure they stay protected from damage arising from collapses.

    1. Compliance With Government Regulations

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has laws to ensure that employees work in premises devoid of safety and health hazards. If they inspect your business premises and find it unsafe, you may be penalized with hefty fines and revocation of your operating license. But if you work in a safe building, you’ll always have your license intact. Your customers will have even more trust in you by always being open for business.

    1. Peace Of Mind

Buildings that are prone to collapse will have tell-tale signs. Some of the most common signs include:

    • Wide cracks in walls
    • Sagging floors
    • Curved columns
    • Cracked arches
    • Bulging walls
    • Unusual structural noises

Your employees may see these signs and continue working, but it may cause them anxiety. All the time, they’ll keep thinking of what might or might not happen. In such a state of mental turmoil, you don’t expect them to optimally perform.

But if the building is safe and sound, they’ll carry out their duties with peace of mind. Likewise, their productivity remains high all the time. This way, they get to achieve most of the business objectives in good time.

    1. Positive Public Perception

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Whenever customers walk into your business premises, the physical state of the building leaves a lasting impression. Companies that understand this fact spend a lot of money on improving the reception area.

If you operate from a poorly designed building that seems as if it’s on the verge of collapse, your customers will notice it. And they’ll leave with the impression that you’re not serious with business. That hurts your business since discouraged customers may never return.

In this same sense, a structurally sound building portrays you as a devoted entrepreneur. Your customers see for themselves and feel safe whenever they are at your place of work. You won’t have to ask them to return to your premises. Instead, they’ll subconsciously find themselves coming back for more of the experience. And that means more money for you.

    1. Reduced Operating Costs

With a safe building, you won’t have to spend money now and then to do repairs. Structural repairs usually cost a lot of money. If you’re to finance the repairs, you may soon go broke and go out of business.

Unsafe buildings also cause workplace accidents. If the courts find you guilty of negligence, you’ll have to pay hefty fines and compensate injured employees. This will certainly hurt your finances.

    To Conclude

From the points above, it’s evident how safe building and construction benefits you as an entrepreneur. Therefore, make sure that any building you rent meets the universally accepted safety standards. And if you’re the owner of the building, do periodic inspections and repairs to maintain the structural health of your building.
