Modern luxury is set to descend upon Charlotte on August 17th with the grand opening of  JW Marriott Charlotte, the iconic brand’s first property in the Carolinas. The 381-room hotel is located in Charlotte’s booming  Uptown corridor, within walking distance of the city’s most sought-after attractions and largest businesses, and across the street  from the newly renovated Charlotte Convention Center. JW Marriott Charlotte will be a haven for guests to focus on their mind,  body, and spirit.

The design of JW Marriott Charlotte is grounded in craftsmanship and the art of detail, capturing natural light that illuminates  every floor, including 22,000 square-feet of event space, a full-service spa, two restaurants, and a rooftop bar complete with  pool with private cabanas. Designed to honor Queen Charlotte, lavish custom chandeliers are inspired by patterns she wore and

color throughout draws inspiration from royal portraiture, some of which is on display only blocks away from the hotel in the renowned Mint Museum.

One of the hotel’s many exclusive features will be the Spa by JW®, offering hotel guests and the Charlotte community a  restorative escape in the heart of the city. Uptown’s newest full-service spa will feature a luxurious oasis with holistic mind and  body ideology and a full menu of rejuvenating spa treatments.

JW Marriott Charlotte is steps away from a major stop on Charlotte’s light rail system and is tucked between skyscrapers and  urban gardens, all within earshot of Bank of America Stadium’s cheering fans. City and sunset views from the 23-floor building are  enhanced with floor-to-ceiling windows in guest rooms and all 34 VIP suites.

“JW Marriott Charlotte brings a true urban retreat to Charlotte, with luxury amenities and exceptional dining,” said David Malmberg, General Manager for JW Marriott Charlotte. “We could not be more excited to open our doors and welcome the local  community and visitors to Charlotte to experience the JW Marriott brand for themselves.”

Paired with the luxury hotel are three new destination dining options in the heart of Uptown which feature covered outdoor dining  and social areas. All three dining outlets – as well as Spa by JW® – are now accepting reservations. JW Marriott Charlotte’s  dining outlets include:

Dean’s Italian Steakhouse – A classic American steakhouse with Italian expression set in a modern, rustic open space, Dean’s  features a show kitchen where guests can watch cuts of USDA Prime, Linz Heritage, and American Wagyu – as well as authentic  homemade pasta dishes – being prepared.

Aura Rooftop – This fifth-floor rooftop bar offers a magnetic vibe and regal tone setting a new standard for rooftop bars in  Charlotte. When night falls, the building’s mirror-like exterior reflects the city, including Bank of America Stadium, creating a  powerful aura, softened by enchanting lush greenery. The menu will feature botanical craft cocktails, boutique wines, and small  bites.

Caroline’s Oyster Bar – A fanciful take on a coastal seafood place, Caroline’s celebrates the neighborhood charm and fresh flavors  of the North Carolina coast. The scene is set by a 360-degree centerpiece bar and 8-seat, Carolina-style raw oyster bar.

JW Marriott Charlotte is owned and operated by White Lodging, one of the country’s leading hotel ownership, development, and  management companies. White Lodging currently owns and/or operates approximately 90 premium hotels, 40 restaurants and  bars and a collection of luxury ranches. This new luxury hotel not only represents the first JW Marriott opened in the Carolinas,  but also the first property for White Lodging in the two-state market.

The hotel is part of the Ally Charlotte Center, a pedestrian-friendly community destination developed by Crescent Communities  with an intentional selection of indoor and outdoor dining, inviting open spaces and alluring urban gardens. The full city block includes 750,000 square feet of office space, 30,000 square feet of ground-level retail, a 12,000 square foot public plaza with  live oak tree relocated from Johns Island, South Carolina, an allée of 14 ginkgo trees, and 1,400-space parking garage.
