6 Business Ideas That Changed the Way We Receive Essential Services

0

It’s clear that the world looks a lot different today than it did a decade ago. Technology moved at the speed of lightning and businesses are still trying to keep up with the available opportunities. This technological advancement led to innovative business ideas that are changing the way average people receive their essential services. And in Charlotte, many of these ideas are thriving.

Subscription Boxes

You can subscribe to almost anything. From getting an expensive wine every month to learning how to paint, subscription boxes have taken over the e-commerce world. With some companies offering options as low as $10 a month, it’s clear why so many businesses are choosing a subscription model. It gets them consistent customers who buy their products monthly. Essential items like razors, shampoo, and conditioner can even be purchased through a subscription. Instead of monthly magazines, people are buying carefully curated boxes that contain products from their favorite companies. Add to the fact that you can even subscribe to grocery boxes, and you have a recipe for success.

Online Grocery Ordering

Whether you go to pick up your groceries or you have them delivered to your home, online grocery ordering has changed the game. You pick the foods you want and then someone else treks through the store to pick them out for you. All you do is go get them or be home when they deliver them to your door. Most grocery pickers work hard to select the best items for your list, but sometimes a rotten piece of fruit or a wilting vegetable makes it through. The great thing is that most companies will offer a refund or store credit for items that were not up to your standards.

Telemedicine

Got kids at home and need to go to the doctor? Why not let the doctor come to you? Telemedicine visits from places like CVS and other big companies are growing in popularity. You can get many basic services taken care of from the comfort of home and all you need to do is go pickup your prescriptions when they are ready. These business models are changing the way that healthcare is delivered. It’s offering affordable options to people without health insurance and allowing parents the opportunity to get care for themselves even when they have kids at home.

At-Home Medical Testing

In addition to telemedicine, you can also get medical testing at home. Companies like Hologic Women’s Health and Everlywell offer critical tests for women who need it. Whether you’re looking for help with your cervical health, private STD tests, or you need to figure out if you’re allergic to something, you no longer have to wait weeks for a doctor’s appointment and then get a referral for the tests.

App-Based Taxi Services

Uber and Lyft services are available throughout the city. People love the simplicity of these apps that help them get around Charlotte when their car is broken down, go see outdoor spaces outside the city, and get them home safely after a fun night of celebrations. App-based driving services have changed how people look at getting around. These business models have changed not only the consumer side of things, but have provided gig opportunities to countless people looking to make extra money after work hours.

Use of Remote Employees

It used to be that the job pool was limited to the people who could make it into your local office. Or you had to pay a huge amount to help your top candidate relocate to your city. But today, you can hire people from all over the world. This ensures you get the best person for the job. With lightning-fast network speeds, productivity apps, and teleconferencing options, it’s easier than ever to hire remote employees for your company. Many of the big companies in Charlotte offer a combination of remote and in-person work opportunities.

This work-from-home revolution means that people spend less money on gas, less time on commuting, and can be more productive than they were in the office. They can better manage their work and life priorities which makes for happier employees. While it’s been a slow move, the transition to remote staff was accelerated in the past two years and only continues to grow.

5 Safe & Natural Ways to Relieve Stress

0

It’s common for people to turn to things like substances to relieve stress. “I need a drink!” is a common phrase one will hear from a peer at the end of a long week. While relaxing and enjoying a night out with friends is great every now and then, if substances become your crutch to unwind, you could end up with serious health problems. Instead, consider these natural ways you can relieve stress:

Get a medical marijuana prescription

If you suffer from serious anxiety or stress in your life, you may be able to get prescribed medical marijuana by your health provider. While you’ll need a PA medical card or one for New York, depending on where you’re located, it can help you to minimize panic attacks and other issues related to serious stress.

While you may live in a state where marijuana is legal, it’s still wise to speak to your doctor to make sure you’re getting the right dosage and strain, as different types of marijuana can have different effects.

There are a lot of brands that offer CBD and hemp-based products and various supplements that can be used to relieve anxiety and stress like BrainFit and ChemicalPlanet. Make sure you do thorough research and learn about the potential risks and benefits of taking various supplements. We strongly recommend that you consult a GP before using any supplements, as they all might have negative side effects.

Participate in a team sport

Participating in a team sport can be a great stress reducer. It allows you to get distracted, forget about the sources of stress in your life, and helps you get some much-needed exercise.

Whether you join a soccer team in Texas or ride mountain bikes in Big Bear, getting outside and having fun while you’re at it is a great way to decrease stress in your life.

Get a massage

Perhaps you book a massage with someone who comes to your home and sets up candles and aromatherapy with essential oils to make it a calming environment. Or, maybe you book a massage at your local spa. Wherever you get a massage, this pampering can do a lot of good for you.

With your body relaxed and tension massaged away, you’ll feel like a brand-new person. While you may not be able to get a massage every single week, if you can wing it every couple of weeks, it could do you a lot of good.

Visit friends

Spending time laughing with friends can be really good for you. It can help you to forget the stresses going on in your life. Or maybe you need to vent a little in a safe space with a person who gets you. Either way, spending time with friends and people you care about can be beneficial for when you just need someone to talk to.

Even if you get together over a Zoom call because of social distancing, time spent sharing stories, fun, and even stress with those you love can help you feel like a weight is taken off of you.

Consider therapy

In our busy lives, it can be hard for us to find the time for each other. Maybe you don’t have time to hang out with friends on a regular basis or you don’t feel comfortable discussing your stress with them. Maybe you need some help or advice that your friends can’t give you.

If you’re dealing with heavy stress because of some serious situations or simply the stress of everyday life, it could be helpful to invest in a therapist. While it could take some time to find the right match for you, when you do, you could find your life changing for the better while decreasing your anxiety and stress.

In Conclusion

Stress can make our lives miserable, yet it can also be hard to manage. Whether you have a high workload or have some situations going on in your life that are difficult to handle, you may be having a hard time even functioning with all of the stress that you’re under. It’s important to manage your stress to live a healthier and more peaceful life, so consider these tips to help you feel better.

What Is Haylage And When To Use It

0

In short, haylage is a fermented forage that is often used due to its higher protein levels and ease of digestibility. It is created using the same forage that turns into hay, except it is baled up when it is still wet as opposed to being fully dried out. Through this method, the fermentation process converts sugars to lactic acid and volatile fatty acids to keep sugar down to a minimum and help your horse maintain a healthy digestive system.

Haylage is often chosen as an alternative to hay for horses requiring higher energy levels. This may include working horses, horses who live an active lifestyle, younger horses requiring energy to grow healthily and older horses who may struggle to digest other types of hay. By providing the best form of forage, maintaining a comfortable body temperature with quality stable rugs and ensuring you are meeting your horse’s nutritional demands, you can rest assured that you are providing the best levels of care for your horse’s every need.

The benefits of haylage

  • Haylage is dust free so is much more suitable for horses with respiratory issues. This prevents the need to soak your hay, providing you with convenience whilst keeping your horse healthy.
  • Due to the fermented nature of haylage, the bales are much more dense which is useful for storage, especially where space is not a luxury. As the bales are wrapped, they can also be stored outside with no worry about the weather conditions.
  • Horses tend to prefer the taste of haylage in comparison to standard hay, being a more appealing prospect that keeps waste down to a minimum.
  • The higher nutritional value means haylage can replace additional supplements or feeds that were previously required, being convenient and easy for your horse to digest.

Knowing when to use haylage

Many horse owners prefer to use haylage during the damp weather conditions when accessing quality forage can become a struggle, with a lack of dry hay available. As well as the convenience, the added nutrients make it easier than ever to provide your horse with a balanced diet. Despite its added benefits, haylage is actually easier to make as it can be wrapped wet, being compacted into tight bales and sold as it is opposed to hay which needs drying out completely before it can be worked with. Once you have opened your haylage, it will need to be used within a few days before it loses its quality so suitable amounts will need to be purchased to avoid waste.

It does tend to be a more expensive approach than other hay, but the additional energy allows you to save on extra feed, especially in the winter months, balancing out the added costs. If your horse lives a particularly active lifestyle or requires an additional boost of energy in comparison to standard horses, switching from hay to haylage can be an easy step that will help you maintain their energy levels all year round.

Learn How To Trade Before You Invest your Money

0

Forex trading is an exciting way to make money but only when you invest in the right places. Beginners or those who are just starting should first learn to invest and know everything about forex trading before they choose to put in their hard earned money into trading. To learn trading, one needs to be patient, work hard, and learn from the experts.

Understand The Market

Before you start investing, you need to understand how the forex market works. Thus, take time and study about currency pairs and everything that affects them before you choose to risk your money. If you know how well the market works, it will save you money in the long run.

Planning is Necessary

You cannot trade successfully without a solid trading plan. It is not just about making trading strategies, but the trick is to stick to these strategies. Planning involves creating strategies which are all about profit goals, methods, evaluation means and risk tolerance. As you have your plan ready, you must ensure that your trade is under these parameters.

Testing and Learning

Before you start investing your money, you need to put your trading plan to test. You can try any demo trading version and see how well your plan works or how forex trading can turn out to be. Thus, when you do not use or invest your real money, you will be at no risk while you learn how to trade and invest.

Understand your Limitations as a Trader

You might be an enthusiastic trader but keep in mind that you have certain limitations as well. Understand your limits when you are investing and do not go beyond your strategy even if things seem to be quite lucrative. Several traders lose money because they couldn’t control your emotions and got tempted to invest a lot more than their plans.

Thus, when you are into forex trading, you need to know how much you can risk when you are trading. You must set your leverage ratio as per your needs. It is never wise to risk money that you cannot afford to lose because forex market is unpredictable. You can lose all your money in just a few seconds.

You Have to Learn Where You Can Stop

It is never possible to keep track of the markets all the time. You can manage your risk and keep your profits protected through stop & limit orders. Trailing stops are quite helpful. These work to trail a position at specific distance just as the market moves. Thus, it helps to keep profits protected in case the market reverses and the chances of loss increase. If one places contingent orders, it may not limit risk of losses.

Control your Emotions

A forex trader needs to learn how to control emotions especially when things do not go as planned or expected. If any trade does not fit your trading plan, you should never go for it just to make up something. Never think about revenge trading as it doesn’t lead to successful trades. If you lose a trade, never get emotional and try to makeup for it by investing somewhere else.

Forex trading is a skill which is learnt with time and patients. You must learn to invest at the right places because it is about your hard earned money. Any wrong decision and you can lose a lot of money. Go through forex reviews, tips from professionals, practice trading and then start your trading journey so that you know how to tackle a difficult situation.

Concord’s Bubba Wallace Just Became Second Black NASCAR Driver in History To Win Top Race

0

Concord’s own Bubba Wallace, top driver of Michael Jordan’s 23XI Racing, just became the second African American in history to place first in NASCAR’s elite Cup level, winning last night at Talladega. The last time a black driver accomplished the feat was back in 1963 when Wendell Scott won the Cup Series race at Speedway Park in Jacksonville, Fl.

“This is for all the kids out there that want to have an opportunity and whatever they want to achieve, and be the best at what they want to do,” Wallace said after the race. “Stay strong. Stay humble. Stay hungry. Been plenty of times when I wanted to give up, but you always got to stick true to your path and not let the nonsense get to you.”

After the historic win, team co-owner Michael Jordan said, “I’m so happy for Bubba and our entire 23X1 racing team. This is a huge milestone and historic win for us. From the day we signed him, I knew Bubba had the talent to win and Denny and I could not be more proud of him. Let’s go!”

Congrats Bubba!
