Why Charlotte is Becoming an Online Gaming Paradise

0

Towns and cities across the US are constantly on the lookout for new businesses and industries that they can attract to their locale, in the hope that they will bring jobs and prosperity with them.

Online gaming is increasingly becoming one of the biggest players in this regard, with local municipalities often going the extra mile to bring related ventures into their midst.

Charlotte is no exception, having grown its online gaming community substantially in recent years.

In this article we look at just why it is that Charlotte is fast becoming one of the go-to venues for gamers and gaming companies.

Charlotte is going full steam ahead to become one of the hottest places for online gamers and online gaming companies to base themselves

Esports Lead the Way for Other Online Games

Whenever talking about the proliferation of gaming communities in Charlotte, it is impossible to ignore the impact that Esports have had.

This is evident everywhere in Charlotte, from the incredible link up that has been made between the University of North Carolina’s very own Esports teams and professional outfit Simplicity Esports, to the multiple Esports arenas and hubs that have begun popping up all over town.

This is undoubtedly paving the way for other online gaming initiatives to take hold in Charlotte and North Carolina as a whole, with brand new gaming initiatives due to take off in the New Year and online casinos with strong backgrounds in other online games also making their case for being accepted in the state.

Although some of these advances may take more time to realize than others, there can be no doubting the positive mood that surrounds the online gaming world in Charlotte at this moment in time, with Esports being the leading light for others to follow.

Online spaces that were born and bred in Charlotte are rapidly gaining worldwide appeal and prominence

Local Universities Swelling the Talent Pool

For any fledgling industry or cultural movement to really take root in a city, it helps a great deal if local educational organizations and institutions are all onboard.

Charlotte is lucky in that regard, with the JCSU making moves in 2020, announcing partnerships with gaming juggernauts Riot Games, as well as other major players in the field such as Gaming Trifecta and Nacon Gaming.

Johnson C. Smith University has even gone so far as to offer a degree program specifically focused on the world of Esports, which is sure to have students from far and wide enrolling.

With a similar deal already being struck between Simplicity Esports and the University of North Carolina, whereby they run Esports tournaments in conjunction with one another, it is clear to see that academic leaders clearly want a piece of the online gaming pie just as much as the players of such games do.

Old-School Games Get Reboot Thanks to Forward Thinking Charlotte Orgs

While many Esports and other online games tend to feature battle royale or RPG formats, there are some classic board games which are once again gaining prominence online in and around Charlotte.

One organization playing a huge part in this resurgence is the Charlotte Chess Center, which now hosts as many online tournaments and seminars as it does live ones at their base on Kettering Drive.

Games Development Companies Putting Down Roots

Nothing gets a local gaming scene going quite like have a bunch of local developers duking it out to see who the best in the city is.

Such a healthy rivalry exists in Charlotte thanks to some innovative independent developers such as OneSmartBunny and Mighty Rabbit Studios, Inc., with the latter having released popular titles like Breach & Clear as well as Fat Chicken.

The only thing that may hold the city back from attracting more such gaming companies is its less than impressive internet speeds, an issue that must surely be resolved soon, so as not to hinder the growth of this booming industry.

Planning To Buy A Desktop Stand for WFH? 5 Things You Should Consider Before

0

Working from home has become the most prevalent “new normal” in the post-covid world. The pandemic has pushed many of us to work efficiently despite the unseemly facilities at home.

We work on our laptops or personal computers for hours, getting tired earlier than usual. Have you wondered what might be the problem?

You guessed it right — the posture and comfort. Most of us don’t have the office setup at home to work conveniently; thus, we experience back pain and soreness in the shoulder.

This is a high time you get the best desktop stand for your work from home routine now!

To help you purchase the right one, we have curated five things you need to consider in the desktop stand you are looking to purchase.

  • The Style

Going for the desktop stand that suits your working style is the smartest way to make a purchase.

For instance, Some people are comfortable to work while standing. A standing desk is ideal for them. While few others are super productive working in their bed, a monitor riser is a great option.

This way, you will use the desktop stand effectively, rather than just allowing it to occupy a corner in your home.

  • The Flexibility

This one is major if you prefer a monitor riser or a laptop stand. Even though your laptop’s fixed position seems okay, you will change your laptop’s position based on your posture.

For example, a person leaning towards the back of the chair keeps the laptop closer than leaning towards the front.

Accordingly, your laptop must have adjustable features to suit your posture and also decreases the screen glare.

Plus, choose the desktop stand that has an optimal height to your eye level. It allows you to work with full focus for hours without any shoulder or neck pain.

  • The Features

A desktop stand shouldn’t only have room for your laptop but also the accessories.

Some monitor stands come with a drawer with sections for your USB ports, notebooks, charging cables and other computing needs.

This multi-purpose feature makes your work-life perfect. You needn’t look for spaces to occupy your notes and office files as the stand will keep everything compactly.

Interestingly, some laptop stands have extendable mobile stands to place your smartphones vertically. This way, you can attend a video call with your team while working on your laptop simultaneously.

  • The Material

Do you know metals helps laptops to cool faster? Yes, it is true.

When you’re working for long hours, obviously your system tends to heat up pretty much faster. If this condition persists, it will affect the functioning of your laptop.

In major cases, the high-end CPUs contribute to the heating. Therefore, choosing the best material that ventilates the heat would keep your laptop sane.

Using a steel mesh and metal mesh desktop stands have enough space to vent out heat and exchange cool air through the holes.

It is advisable not to go for plastic, and wood desktop stands as it doesn’t normalize your laptops’ temperature.

  • Budget

Be it a pricey state-of-the-art desktop stands to budget-friendly ones; there are numerous options abundantly available in the market.

Regardless of how much you spent, you will find the perfect desk for your work from home setup.

However, it is wise to consider an adjustable sit to stand desk. It shrinks to your sitting position and expands when you want to stand and work. Isn’t it cool?

With a push of the button, you get access to both these features. Starting from $500, you get amazing adjustable desktop stands. All you need to do is choose the one that suits your budget.

The Bottomline

As buying a perfect desktop stand is a one-time investment, you can analyze the variety of options in the market to pick the best one.

SISAL Morocco Receives Supply of Lottery Instant Games and Latest Generation Wave™ Retailer Technology from Scientific Games

0

Beginning December, SISAL S.p.A. (“SISAL”) in Morocco will start to receive lottery instant games, e-instant digital games, and WAVE lottery retailer terminals supplied by Scientific Games Corporation. For Scientific Games, this gesture represents a vital step towards achieving its objective of expanding its reach as the African lottery market rapidly develops. Several lottery and betting providers already use their services, including the Betin Kenya Website.

Through the integration of its Open Gaming System, Scientific Games will provide e-instant games as well as lottery instant scratch cards, and the latest generation WAVE retailer terminals to SISAL Morocco. This is in support of the development of the national lottery of Morocco’s retail network.

SISAL is among Italy’s biggest, responsible, and most prominent gaming operators. It holds a significant market share in the lottery, betting, video lottery, AWP machines, and digital gaming sectors.

SISAL received a lot of support from its partners, especially Scientific Games, as the company geared for the Moroccan national lottery campaign of Societe detection de la Loterie National. They were also awarded a 10-year concession in February 2018 to operate the Moroccan lottery that took off in January 2019.

According to the Lottery Group Chief Executive for Scientific Games, Pat McHugh, there is a lot the company is grateful for through the trust and belief SISAL has reposed in them. McHugh acknowledged the place of mutual trust between the two companies as they partner to bring about the ease of doing lottery by the teeming African population, especially in Morocco and Kenya.

In McHugh’s words, “We are honored by the continued trust that SISAL has placed in our ability to deliver a variety of value-added products and services that maximizes sales and proceeds for a number of their international lottery operations.”

Since 1997, Scientific Games has been providing lottery retail technology to SISAL, and SISAL depends on Scientific Games for a great number of its retailer terminals in Italy. Their relationship was further strengthened their relationship in 2017 when they entered a strategic partnership agreement.

In the last few years, SISAL has enjoyed incredible growth and expansion, with the most recent being the award of the operational license for the national lottery program in Morocco and Turkey. Besides, the company also works with an Italian concessional license which allows it to activate parimutuel games (GNTN) in Italy.

As a way of giving teeth to these giant strides, Scientific Games partners with SISAL by providing the necessary innovations, skills, expertise, as well as products across various spectrums of SISAL’s business interests.

Scientific Games is currently the largest lottery technology provider in Europe, and the fastest-growing in the United States. They supply games, technology, and services to over 150 lotteries in 50 countries. As a responsible partner of gambling wares, Scientific Games also offers sports betting solutions to more than 20 lotteries and several private operators.
