What Kind of Stress Can CBD Oil Help With?

0

You’ve probably heard that CBD oil can help support a calm and focused mind. But what types of stress can CBD oil help with in a real-world context?

If you were to go strictly from the buzz surrounding it, you may think that CBD oil is a brand new discovery. In fact, CBD oil has been used for a very long time for a number of reasons. It’s only recently coming into the spotlight for a number of reasons. One of the things you may have heard as a benefit is its ability to support a sense of calm in people, especially people with substantial everyday stresses.  Here are some stressors that CBD oil can help you deal with.

Work Stress

Almost nobody likes to go to work, but for most people, it’s not an earth-shattering deal. However, for other people, the concept of going to work fills them with dread. It may be because they just don’t enjoy their job, because they dislike their coworkers, or because something traumatizing previously happened at one of their workplaces. No matter what the reason is, you may feel more anxious about work than most people.

CBD oil is a very effective way to combat this stress. Because CBD oil is derived from industrial hemp, which contains less that .3% THC, it doesn’t have psychoactive effects in the way marijuana does. CBD oil can help you keep your mind calm, which makes it easier to get over the stress caused by your workplace environment.

Pre-Workout Anxiety

One of the things CBD oil is very good for is managing post-workout injuries and soreness. But what about when your issues stem mostly from the pre-workout portion? There are plenty of reasons that you may feel anxious about your workout, but none of them will contribute to a healthy, fulfilling workout. You’re more likely to feel uncomfortable and stressed, and that could lead to a workout-related injury.

The calm and focus that CBD oil provides can help you keep your mind on the workout. Instead of thinking about all of your other life stressors, or worrying about the possibility of an injury, you can instead keep your eyes on the road and exercise in a more focused manner.

Test-Taking Anxiety

Whether you’re a college student, a medical professional, or you’re just in an industry where you have regular assessments, the anxiety associated with an upcoming test can be substantial. For particularly anxious people, their minds may immediately go to the possibility of their failing the test and having to deal with the fallout. That anxiety can build and build until it actually impacts your ability to take the test, making it ironically more difficult to pass!

The focus that CBD oil can promote is a great way to keep your eye on the prize. Instead of thinking about all the ways that your test could go wrong, CBD oil can help you remember that the test is just a series of questions. You may even be able to remember your studying better because of the way that CBD oil supports calm.

How can I use CBD oil to avoid stress?

If you’re interested in using CBD oil for anxiety, the first thing to do is to talk to your doctor, especially if you’re already on other medications. While CBD oil is generally very safe, it can have unexpected interactions with other medications and supplements, so it’s important to consult with a doctor before starting.

Once you’ve gotten the go-ahead, you’ll want to find a reputable company that uses pure ingredients and is transparent about everything in its product. Charlotte’s Web is a great place to go for high-quality CBD oils. Charlotte’s Web carries four CBD oil tinctures, all of which have differing strengths: Full Strength CBD Oil, which contains 6.65 mg/mL, Extra Strength CBD Oil, which contains 16.65 mg/mL, Original Formula CBD Oil, which contains 50 mg/mL, and Maximum Strength Hemp Extract, which contains 60 mg/mL. No matter which formula you choose, you can be confident in the quality of Charlotte’s Web CBD oil. Whatever type of stress you’re under, consider CBD the next time you feel the nerves starting to come.

NC Becomes Employment First State, Expanding Opportunities for People with Disabilities

0

Governor Roy Cooper officially declared North Carolina as an Employment First State through signing of an Executive Order today in Kernersville, NC at the Piedmont Triad Regional Council.

“Employment First” refers to the belief that employment in the general workforce should be the first and preferred option for individuals with disabilities. The principles of Employment First include working in integrated settings and earning competitive wages and benefits; securing employment with reasonable and appropriate placement and support; employees with and without disabilities are equally valued and that jobs should match an individual’s work skills, abilities and career choices to the greatest extent possible.

This effort has been in the making for over 10 years. The collective impact of state agencies like NC Vocational Rehabilitation, Division of of Mental Health/Substance Abuse Services/Developmental Disabilities, Office of Disability Employment Policy; nonprofit organizations like Association of People Supporting Employment First; and many community advocates have brought the state to this milestone for people with disabilities and employment.

“This is a very exciting moment for the disability community,” said Alexandra McArthur, chairperson of the North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities. “Employment offers a rewarding sense of purpose, high expectations and an ability to contribute to society. People with disabilities are talented, capable and ready to work – and we are excited to see the State of North Carolina support this effort.”

In North Carolina, there are approximately 1.3 million individuals with disabilities who experience disproportionately high levels of unemployment, residential segregation, dependence and poverty. Additionally, less than 35 percent of North Carolinians who are between the ages of 18 and 64 and have a disability are employed – a stark contrast to the nearly 76 percent of North Carolinians without disabilities who are employed.

This announcement comes on the heels of many employment initiatives that have begun across the State to increase employment outcomes for underserved and unserved communities.

In 2017, the NC Job Ready Initiative better aligned public sector resources with the evolving needs of businesses; and Hometown Strong Initiative in 2018 bolstered existing public-private efforts to expand employment opportunities to all North Carolinians.

NCCDD launched EveryBody Works North Carolina to increase awareness of the skills and expertise of North Carolinians with disabilities; provide them and their families with information on how to access training and education; help them become more competitive for available job opportunities; and to improve their job readiness.

NC County Issues Warning After Confirming Multiple Bigfoot Sightings

0

A growing number of people have been calling Davie County emergency lines claiming they spotted a giant red-eyed bigfoot late at night. When several of those sightings appeared to originate from the same place, the county sent their animal control department to investigate.

It turns out that people were not imagining things.

In a Facebook post, the Davie County Animal Shelter issued a statement saying that there is indeed a bigfoot along Pine Ridge Rd. in Mocksville, but it is not a threat and, if spotted, “you do not need to call animal control to report seeing Bigfoot, Sasquatch or any other large creature…do not tie up 911 lines.”

In a follow-up post, the county added, “the ACOs (Animal Control Officers) asked for this post, because they are tired of answering calls.”

The county also noted that the carving is on private property, does not violate any laws, and will likely remain in place for the foreseeable future.

Outside of the Pacific Northwest, North Carolina might be the biggest hotspot for bigfoot sightings and lore.

There is a growing NC Facebook group called ‘Bigfoot 911’, which was first started in 2014 after a group of local investigators decided to share tips, stories, and photos from the McDowell County area.

The group received national and international attention after they reported a shockingly detailed sighting of Bigfoot near Lake James.

Last year, they also organized their first annual Bigfoot festival, the largest event of its kind on the east coast.

The festival was held in the small town of Marion, NC (about 50 miles North West of Charlotte). It included a wide variety of Sasquatch-themed craft and food vendors, book signings, lectures, along with Bigfoot hunting demonstrations including photographs and plaster casts from recent expeditions in the NC woods.

What are your thoughts on Bigfoot – do you think he’s real?

Charlotte Students Walk Out of School Today In Protest of Monday’s Police Shooting

Over 100 Charlotte students walked out of school today on Charlotte’s west side in protest of Monday’s police shooting, which resulted in the death of Danquirs Napoleon Franklin.

Students at Northwest School of the Arts walked out of classes for about an hour today holding signs, kneeling with their hands up, and shouting several of the more prominent chants from recent #BlackLivesMatter protest and rallies, including; “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot”, and “No Justice, No Peace, No racist police”.

The principal for the Northwest School of The Arts sent a message to parents today saying in part, “Some of our students made a decision to participate in a planned walkout during class time today. The students who participated will be marked absent from any classes missed today.”
