National and state leaders just gathered together to celebrated the grand opening of Kempower’s US headquarters in North Carolina.

The new $41 million factory, Kempower’s fourth, will produce DC fast chargers for electric vehicles in the US and Canada.

“Kempower’s new facility is a beacon of hope and progress, demonstrating what can be achieved when public policy, private innovation, and community support come together,” said Cooper.

Kempower unveiled a new megawatt charger, capable of charging an electric truck in 30 minutes, and generating the power of two Walmart supercenters.

The Durham facility, a 154,000-square-foot space, is expected to create around 300 jobs and add over $700 million to North Carolina’s economy in the next decade.
