More good news for Cleveland County as the town of Shelby just announced a major job increase. Metal Works Manufacturing Co. will be investing about $4 million over the next couple years, meaning some major wave of new hiring.
The company also remarked that the average salary for the new workers will be about $45,400 – roughly 30% higher than the average Cleveland County income of roughly $34,900.
The company currently produces parts for Boeing, Caterpillar, Bombardier, and several other major global manufacturers.
North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory showed up to the factory to make the announcement, “Nothing compares to North Carolina’s manufacturing workforce. This new company will find well-qualified employees to not only make armor for specialty vehicles but also manufacture lifts and material handling equipment. I admire companies that make things in our great state.”
It’s been over 6 months since local heros David and Jason Benham had their reality show on HGTV canceled due to their religions beliefs, but in spite of the trials, they are more popular than ever. They have now been featured on virtually every major media outlet in America, and have just released a book which is quickly becoming a best seller;
After their show was canceled, the brothers began to write down their story in order to inspire others and give hope to our nation.
Their new book teaches powerful lessons and success tips. They talk about real-life strategies from their time with two separate major league baseball teams, to the growth of their multi-million dollar business empire and securing an HGTV reality show.
It’s a journey where the brothers learned incredible lessons on how to stay true to who they are, even after walking away from professional baseball and having their TV series was stripped away from them.
Their experiences showed them that the key to powerful living is found when you die to your dreams and face your fears, and choose to live powerfully through it all.

At this week’s press conference in Charlotte, Governor McCrory announced that the state will no longer be accepting Syrian refugees. He stated that the sparse knowledge and poor background checks the federal government provides are not sufficient, given ISIS’s current threat level.
North Carolina now joins 27 other states around America that have refused the federal government’s demands to accept the refugees. Most governors, including McCrory, have stated that they would not willingly accept refugees until the federal government increases background checks to make sure terrorists are not brought into their states.
McCrory said that federal officials are not telling the states any significant information about who refugees are, how they were screened, and what their backgrounds include. So far there have been at least 59 Syrian refugees have come to various parts of North Carolina since 2014.
“I empathize with these people who are dealing with unimaginable atrocities from ISIS. I care for these people. But what worries me is that some of these people could actually be ISIS coming into our country,” the governor commented during the press conference.
Do you think Charlotte should deny the federal government’s requests?
