The North Carolina Republican Leader Has Just Been Impeached

north carolina republian impeachmentAbout 300 North Carolina Republican Party leaders just met earlier today to impeach the party’s chairman, Hasan Harnett.

Harnett was accused of hacking into the party’s website to change convention fees, publicly denouncing other party leaders, and not raising enough money for the party. He was found guilty in a 202-84 vote on a charge of “major violations” of the party’s rules, and a 205-77 vote for “gross inefficiency.”

The committee elected ex-chairman and former U.S. Rep. Robin Hayes of Concord to fill the rest of Harnett’s term.

Hayes said that he is now looking forward to bringing the party together. “We are all sad to be in the position of having to take today’s action but firm in our resolve to go forward in the most open and fair way possible,” he remarked after today’s impeachment of Harnett.

What do you think of the Republican leadership in North Carolina?

Charlotte Man Gets 25 Years in Prison For Trafficking 2,000+ LBs of Marijuana Into Our City

A joint operation between the Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, Homeland Security, and the Internal Revenue Service (code-name ‘All Tuckered Out’) resulted in the arrest of the head of one of the biggest marijuana trafficking rings in Charlotte’s history.

Ryan Tucker was ordered to serve 292 months after being convicted of running a six-year trafficking operation that imported well over 2,000 pounds of medical-grade marijuana from California. Tucker was also found guilty of laundering over $1.7 million in drug money.

His father, Frederick Tucker (69), who just so happened to be a retired SBI narcotics officer, was also recently arrested and convicted as a courier of the drug ring – he was sent to jail for three years.

Judge Frank Whitney sent his son, Ryan Tucker, away for over 7 times as long due to his leadership role in the drug ring, and for his long criminal history.

The Charlotte Hornets Are Heading To Game 7 In Miami

charlotte hornets play the heat in miamiThe Charlotte Hornets are about to travel down to Miami for one last time for game 7 of their epic playoff battle after tonight’s 97-90 loss to the heat.

Our team came out strong tonight early on in the game, but Miami quickly answered back in the first half and managed to construct a 20-7 run that gave Miami a 9-point lead before half-time.

Throughout the game, it seemed like every time the Hornets got close, the Heat came up with big defensive stops and timely hoops.

With about 3 minutes left in the game, the Hornets were down by 10 points, but then, Walker hit a fadeaway stepback three-pointer, then finished a mad dash to the rim to foul out Whiteside and cut Miami’s lead to two with 1:33 remaining on a spinning reverse layup.

Sadely, however, Wade closed the door and kept Miami’s season alive.

This may have been the shot that sadly sealed the Hornet’s fate tonight;

rock hill elementary school on fireThankfully there have no yet been any injuries reported in a major fire that erupted today in Rock Hill’s Richmond Drive Elementary School.

Officials said that the blaze was contained to a section of new construction within the school, and once it spread to the roof, it was eventually put out by local firefighting crews.

Children were quickly bused to the Winthrop Coliseum where parents are now being asked to pick up their kids from. There was a 30-minute delay for school bus routes across the Rock Hill district as a result of the incident.

Miami started the game by running out to a 14-6 lead, before the Hornets answered with a 14-0 run – featuring four 3-pointers from four different players. The Hornets led by 12 midway through the second half, before Miami started to heat up.

The Hornets shot just 26 percent in the third, and Miami became the first team to achieve a second-half lead change in the series with a score of 71-65 going into the fourth. But Miami went cold, shooting for only 32 percent the rest of the way.

North Carolina Man Records Creature Resembling Bigfoot (Video)

0

A man in Western North Carolina just sent The Citizen-Times a video of what he believes could be a genuine Bigfoot (or as Cleveland County residents call him, “Knobby”).

While Eric Walters was filming the short clip, his little dog ‘Zippy’ starts to run after the creature;

Walters has been renting a cabin on Buck Forest Road with his wife and another couple this week – he shot the quick video on his phone, and told people that they should be the judge as to what the creature might be.

Naked Gastonia Man Claiming To Be God Punch Officers In The Head Before Being Tased

0

man gets tased in gastoniaWhen Gastonia Police were called to a Gastonia Apartment complex on 1110 Pebblestone Way on Tuesday morning they were shocked to discover a naked man running around calling himself ‘God’. When they approached him, the man punched two of them in the head, at which point they tased him to take him into custody.

A woman called 911 at around 8am to report Donald Lee Klinesmith. She said that he was acting very unusual after throwing all of his belongings outside of his unit, then started running around the apartment complex.

“He’s going around and around the pool,” she said.

The woman told the 911 dispatcher that the man had taken off his shirt and was talking to himself.

“Now he’s in there talking to the sign. He might have a little mental problem. I don’t know,” the woman told the operator.

By the time officers arrived, Klinesmith was naked and was referring to himself as ‘God’, according to police.

An officer approached him, and Klinesmith quickly punched the policeman in the head.

A second officer reportedly was punched during the struggle with him, and police say Klinesmith also punched a neighbor.

After police tased Klinesmith and subdued him, he was soon admitted to the hospital. Once released, police will charge the 40-year-old man with assault on a law enforcement officer with serious injury, assault on a government official, and simple assault.
