CMPD Just Arrested Panthers Fan Who Assaulted Older Man At Game

0

CMPD officers have just arrested the Panthers fan who attacked an older fan during last night’s Eagles game at Bank of America Stadium.

After reviewing the video and talking to fans who witnessed the assault, CMPD determined the attacker to be Kyle Adam Maraghy

They arrested Maraghy this afternoon, charged him with simple assault, and took him to the Mecklenburg County jail for processing.

According to ‘Warren C’, who first uploaded the now viral video to his Instagram page, Maraghy was standing up for much of the game, and when the man behind him became agitated, they started arguing – then Maraghy started punching him repeatedly in the face.

Here is the original video (WARNING: contains graphic violence and blood):

dude bro & his chicka were standing for the entire game. words gradually got more and more escalated. there previously was a single mom and her son between us, they left halfway through the 3rd. after that, the lid was off. the dude took offense to the couple never sitting down and obstructing his view. the victim telling the dude bro how they’re being jerks and how rude they are for not sitting. the dude bro turns around and calls the victim a “geriatric fuck”, “faggot”, and “hick”. then sucker punches him right in the face. i don’t know if he got away or left in handcuffs, but i hope it’s the latter. edit: to clarify further, both the puncher and punchee were wearing Panthers attire. The assailant was seated in section 541, row 24, seat 10.

Early this morning, the Carolina Panthers released this statement about the incident:

“We have reviewed video tape of the incident and have identified the perpetrator. We are working with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department to pursue charges to the fullest extent of the law,” Panthers officials released in a statement. “The Carolina Panthers are committed to a fan-friendly and family-friendly stadium experience. The behavior exhibited by the perpetrator is unacceptable and will not be condoned at Bank of America Stadium.”

Luke Kuechly Placed on Concussion Protocol In Panthers’ Home Loss To The Eagles

0

For the third time in three seasons, Luke Kuechly has been placed on the concussion protocol after a hard hit during last night’s prime-time game against the Eagles.

It wasn’t nearly as bad as last year’s concussion when he was carted off the field in tears while playing the Saints, but this is truly horrible news for everyone.

The Panthers have yet to confirm if there was a concussion, only that he was placed on the protocol;

Here’s the play that took him out:

After Kuechly was taken out, things got noticeably harder for the Panthers.

Cam stepped up as last night’s top running back, even scoring a touchdown, but he just wasn’t able to connect with his receivers for most of the game. He finished 28 of 52 for 239 yards, 1 touchdown pass to McCaffrey and three interceptions.

Carolina is now 4-2 and out of first place in the NFC South, for now. We could stay on top if the 3-1 Falcons lose to the Dolphins this weekend.

Next week the Panthers will travel to Chicago to take on the Bears.

Panthers’ Greg Olsen Takes on KC’s Travis Kelce In Carolina Reaper #OneChipChallenge

0

Paqui Chips has just partnered with the NFL’s best Pro Bowl tight ends, Travis Kelce and Greg Olsen, to take their legendary #OneChipChallenge.

The challenge is basically to eat 1 single chip that’s been coated with the hottest pepper in the world, the Carolina Reaper (only grown in Fort Mill, SC).

According to their press release, Travis Kelce commented after taking the challenge, “The #OneChipChallenge was so intense, it was like eating lava and then just holding on for dear life until the fire faded. Trust me, this chip will show you how tough you really are.”

Greg Olsen said “I can’t believe I let Travis Kelce talk me into taking the Paqui #OneChipChallenge, but I couldn’t say no to a little competition. It was like swallowing pure lava; I felt like the dragons from Game of Thrones.”

Here’s the video of the NFL’s best tight ends struggling to not drink milk after eating the chip:

This is the third time Paque has done the #OneChipChallenge, and according to their press release, this year’s chip is 25% hotter than last years.

“The Carolina Reaper is bred for heat and heat alone. Last year’s batch came in at over 1.5MM Scovilles, the hottest ever recorded by Guinness World Records,” said Ed Currie of PuckerButt Pepper Company. “Our latest crop upped the heat ante to 1.9MM Scovilles, making the Carolina Reaper challenging for even the most daring of Pepperheads.”

During last year’s challenge, L.A. Beast decided to eat 4 chips in a row…then began pouring water out of his face profusely…

This lady could barely stand the heat:

But this guy was not impressed:

If you’d like to take the #OneChipChallenge, you can order single chips from their website for $4.99 each.

Hurricane Irma Victims Opening Restaurant in Mooresville To Raise Money For New Life

0

For most families living in South Florida, Hurricane Irma meant flooding and property damage, but for some, it meant losing everything.

According to their website, Dawn McGill (an experienced chef), her fiancé, two children, and two cats abandoned their live-aboard sailboat in the Florida Keys and fled to her friend’s house in Mooresville just before the storm hit. Dawn immediately started using her culinary skills to work – baking pies, cakes, and other goodies out of her friend’s kitchen, and selling them through Facebook.

After the storm passed, they discovered that Hurricane Irma had completely destroyed their home, along with everything in it. Dawn and her family then decided to start over permanently here in North Carolina.

They’ve now opened a pop-up restaurant in Downtown Mooresville, where the whole family will work together to make enough to start their new life here in the Carolinas.

They will open their new pop-up restaurant for the first time tomorrow, October 13th at 7pm.

After tomorrow, their hours will be:

Sunday – Thursday: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Friday – Saturday: 7 a.m. – 9 p.m.
*Breakfast served daily starting at 7 a.m. until 11 a.m.
**Breakfast hours from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sundays.

Kneel-In Protest Planned For Tonight’s Prime-Time Panthers Game in Uptown Charlotte

0

Several groups are now planning a ‘kneel-in protest’ in Uptown Charlotte tonight before the Panther’s game.

Charlotte’s Pastors and Community Leaders Coalition, led by Bishop Kevin Long of Temple Church International, is planning to have at least 500 people kneel in protest outside of the stadium while the national anthem is playing.

The coalition sent out a statement last night saying that the goal of the kneel-in is to highlight “police brutality, lack of accountability for officers who’ve killed innocent and/or unarmed citizens, and the high rates of unemployment for minorities.”

“Kneeling is merely the method we have chosen, it is not the message in its entirety. The message is that there is a deep and very wide gulf between the Black and Brown communities and others in this country, and we are not compelled to stand that.”

The kneel-in will start at 7:30 p.m. outside the stadium and a press conference will be held after the national anthem is played.

The coalition also said there are more kneel-in protests scheduled in other cities this weekend.

What are your thoughts on the protest?

KKK Flyers Distributed At North Carolina High School Football Game

This past weekend, the KKK attached recruitment flyers to cars at a Gray’s Creek high school football game, just outside Fayetteville, according to the Fayetteville Observer.

The flier stated that “the removal of Confederate flags and monuments is an attack on the white race and America”.

James Spears, KKK’s great titan, answered the phone when the number on the flyer was called, and confirmed that the group distributed the flyers on Friday night during the football game.

Gray’s Creek High School’s principal said that the distribution of the fliers was against school policy.

“We are aware of the unapproved distribution of material on the campus of Gray’s Creek High School Friday night (10/6) during the football game which is currently being investigated,” commented Lisa Stewart in a statement.

She said that nobody is allowed to distribute material on school grounds that promotes “personal attacks or abusive language such as language defaming a person’s character, race, religion, ethnic origin, gender, family status, or disability.”
