0

The Carolina Panthers have just signed a historic 4-year extension contract with star running back Christian McCaffrey. The $64 million contract averages $16/year and officially makes McCaffrey the highest paid running back in the history of the NFL.

This past season, McCaffrey had one of the best seasons any NFL running back has ever had, becoming just the third player ever to rack up 1,000 yards in both rushing and receiving. He also became the first player in history to be named All-Pro at 2 different positions.

“I think Christian McCaffrey is a centerpiece player that you can build around,” Head Coach Matt Rhule commented last week. “And I think he really builds to the culture that you want to have within the building.”

The the abrupt exit of Cam Newton and Luke Kuechly, Christian McCaffrey has just become the new face of the Carolina Panthers.

What do you think about McCaffrey’s new contract?

Top 5 Ways to Have Excellent Leisure Time at Home

0

Many people have certain reasons to stay at home. This may seem like a good pastime if you find interesting things to do. It is important to remember that your family also needs your attention – spend more time with your parents and your spouse. Some people take more time to their children because hard work did not allow doing this earlier. Others find new hobbies or watch their favorite TV shows. But if your stay at home becomes long, then you can find many not only interesting but also useful things. There are 5 ways for a great leisure time at home so that this could become unforgettable and useful for you.

Top 5 ways to have excellent leisure time at home

If you stay at home then find various interesting things to do so as not to waste time. You can rest and relax, but then you will want a variety and these tips could be useful.

# 1 Remove garbage behind the sofa

Finally, it’s time to do it! Did you find excuses or you do not have enough time for this before? But now all the garbage in the house can be removed. Take rubbish behind the sofa, unnecessary little things in the drawers of the nightstand, sort through clothes and shoes. Do not leave what you do not use: throw it away or give it to people in need. Your house will become cleaner and you will be glad about such lightness and freshness.

# 2 Sleep off

Good sleep is very important and now you have time to do it. Such re-energize allows you to be ready for the new work week. If you live alone, turn off your alarm clock and sleep as much as your body wants. You will feel a new surge of energy and could perform new tasks easier and more energetically. If you have a family, ask them not to bother you for several hours. You can also take a new rule: to get up early but then to sleep for 2 hours in the afternoon.

# 3 Enjoy online activities

Now you have a lot of time to watch an online concert or a performance that you missed. Many people enjoy different movies and serials at home, while others communicate on dating sites or play computer games. Your gadget can also give you many opportunities to spend time at home. If you are not in the mood to watch movies, then communicate on social networks or download hookup apps. Your stay at home does not break your social circle – you still have friends and maybe you are ready for new acquaintances now.

# 4 Improve your skills

Did you want to read about the features of your orchid to grow it correctly or did you dream to learn how to make origami? Your knowledge of Italian is very weak and your ability to repair the door lock is at a zero point? Find online lessons and improve your knowledge. Many online resources offer free video lessons so that people could develop and learn new material. Watch a video about repairing or caring for plants, download an online lesson and learn a foreign language.

# 5 Find a new hobby

A new interest will be useful for you, not only for your stay at home. Try to cook new dishes, learn to draw, fishing, tennis or play the guitar. Now you have a lot of time for your hobby and after home rest, you can continue this to get positive emotions.

Conclusion

At home, everyone can take a big plate with tasty food and sit on his comfortable sofa near the TV all day. But you need to continue to develop and have a saturated life. These are not all the ways to make your day bright and unforgettable.

Key Benefits of Medical Marijuana

0

Marijuana is a highly complex plant that contains some 500 unique compounds. Terpenoids give cannabis, a flowering plant, its unique and distinctive smell. Over 100 cannabinoids, or compounds from cannabis, are also present. Two of the primary components of marijuana are tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD). THC is psychoactive and triggers the ‘high’ and CBD does not alter consciousness. With medical marijuana (MMJ) you typically don’t need to consume cannabis that has high levels of THC. Products can range from nearly all CBD, to half and half blends and onto some variations that focus more on the THC element. In general, MMJ typically has higher CBD content than recreational varieties. You can check this store if you are looking for smoking accessories. And if you are looking for dry herb vapes to consume cannabis then try quality vapes from yocanvaporizer.com.

Getting a Medical Marijuana Card

If you want to buy weed you will typically need to get an appointment with a registered doctor who can see if you are a suitable candidate. Most states require a medical certification or provider recommendation to issue cards. In Missouri, for instance, you can find out if you qualify for medical marijuana by setting up an easy online appointment with a Missouri licensed professional. The doctor can provide you with a certification that can be used to apply for and receive your card directly from the state.

Reducing Seizures

Medical cannabis is being used by individuals to treat and dramatically reduce seizures. The FDA even approved a CBD based drug as a therapeutic offering to help people treat severe seizures. CBD based MMJ is also being used to treat Dravet syndrome, a form of childhood epilepsy. The reduction in seizures in some patients seems to be heading in the right direction.

Helping with Alzheimer’s

In Alzheimer’s disease, one of the primary markers or indicators of the disease is the presence of amyloid plaque in the brain. It’s thought that these plaques kill brain cells. THC, one of the key compounds, can help interrupt or slow the creation of these amyloid plaques within the brain. It does this by actually inhibiting the brain enzyme, AChE, that accelerates the formation of the harmful plaques in Alzheimer’s patients. With THC, it may be possible to help address both the symptoms and the progression of Alzheimer’s.

Treating Glaucoma

Glaucoma causes an increased pressure on the eyeball. This, in turn, can injure the optic nerve that carries signals and images to the brain, resulting in vision loss or blindness. Marijuana helps with glaucoma by lowering pressure in the eye, thus preventing blindness.

Helping Veterans with PTSD

For people suffering from the debilitating effects of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), cannabis can help relax both the body and the brain. PTSD can invoke a daily battle with stress, anxiety and fear. MMJ can regulate those feelings and help the mind and body remain in a more calm and placid state. Interestingly, cannabis can also help control nightmares which may occur frequently in those suffering from PTSD. It can also help veterans avoid or lower their reliance on addictive opioids when treating PTSD. It can also help to alleviate anxiety, treat inflammatory bowel diseases, help to treat ADHD/ADD and, because of its impact on insulin, MMJ can help to regulate and prevent diabetes.

Keeping Yourself Financially Secure During Covid19 Economic Concerns

0

The Covid19 virus outbreak may have increased the concern for general health and cleanliness, although, this impacts of the outbreak span far further than keeping yourself safe from infection. This is because global lockdowns have forced several sectors to shut down and countless professionals are forced to patiently await the return to normal at home. However, the impact on the international economy is exceptionally concerning as many have predicted that the virus will bankrupt more people than what it will kill. To avoid complete internal chaos, you should consider the following methods of keeping yourself financially secure.

Safe Haven Investments

If you have been saving and investing funds, you may already be aware of the stock market plummeting and the international losses as a result. However, while many investors have pulled out their funds it would be wise to leave at least some investments as the economy will eventually resurface. In addition to this, if you are among the lucky ones to still have an income flow, you should consider searching for a safe haven investment to build up financial security. While many claim gold is a safe haven, the rise of digital currencies opens a doorway to another safe haven investment; the Bitcoin.

While Bitcoin is not entirely unaffected by the global crisis, some have predicted its value will surge later this year. Therefore, it would be a fantastic solution to buy Bitcoin with your bank account and enjoy a fraction of peace of mind during this trying time.

Craft An Emergency Budget

If you have a reduced income, you will need to create an emergency budget to ensure you are not overspending. In addition to this, you should also search for coovid19 relief programs that may be available to you as many lenders are willing to give grace on debts during this time. It is recommended to reduce your spend where possible. However, if your income is not affected and you are simply concerned about the financial future, now would be the best time to incorporate savings into your budget with a sense of urgency. Your emergency budget should completely cut out any and all luxuries and only allow for basic essentials. Adapting to a lifestyle where only essentials are necessary will serve you well when the world bounces back to normal.

Avoid Credit

During this time, many are unable to repay their debts and as a result, cheap credit may seem extremely alluring. However, multiple small loans will have a snowball effect on your finances and you will soon be drowning in debts. Rather than falling into the temptation of sketchy lenders and promising micro-loans, you should rather consider searching for income online. Perhaps you will be able to find freelance opportunities withing your realm of career skills or you may be able to take advantage of small task websites to create an extra small income while you are at home awaiting the blow over of the concerning international crisis.

Venomous Snake Bites In Charlotte Doubled Last Year – Here’s How To Stay Safe

0

Last year the Carolina Poison Center reported a total of 81 snake bite calls coming from Mecklenburg County – almost twice as many as they received in 2018.

The majority of the calls were for copperhead bites, made by medical professionals seeking specific anti-venom dosing and treatment advice. The Charlotte region’s most prevalent venomous snake is the copperhead, but North Carolina is also home to cottonmouths, rattlesnakes (eastern diamondback, pygmy and timber) and coral snakes.

The Charlotte region has a total of 37 snake species, most of which are harmless, but due to our overly warm winter, snakes of all kinds are now more active than ever.

If you do a lot of walking or hiking around the Charlotte region, you should carry a snake bite kit and/or venom extractor in your backpack or car.

The Carolina Poison Center also recommends that:

If bitten by a snake, you SHOULD:

  • Sit down and stay calm.
  • Gently wash the area with warm, soapy water.
  • Remove any jewelry or tight clothing near the bite site.
  • Keep the bitten area still, if possible, and raise it to heart level.
  • Call the Carolinas Poison Center:  1-800-222-1222.

If bitten by a snake, you SHOULD NOT:

  • Ice the area.  Icing causes additional tissue damage.
  • Make and apply a tourniquet or any tight bandage.  It’s better for the venom to flow through the body than for it to stay in one area.
  • Attempt to catch or kill the snake.

If a snakebite victim is having chest pain, difficulty breathing, face swelling, or has lost consciousness, call 911 immediately.

Call Carolinas Poison Center at 1-800-222-1222 for questions about a snake bite or for more information.

Super Storm Sends Tornadoes Killing 1 Person and Leaving 300,000+ Without Power in The Carolinas

Early this morning many Charlotte-area residents were awoken to the sound of howling winds, pounding rain, and falling branches as one of the most powerful storms of the year ripped through the Carolinas.

The tornadoes and extreme winds took town trees, power lines, and cause localized flash flooding all across our region.

A major intersection at South Tryon and Westinghouse Blvd was completely shut down this morning due to a downed power line in the middle of the street.

One person was killed and several others were injured after a tornado touched down near Greenville, SC;

Another possible tornado in South Charlotte forced emergency crews to rescue a woman from her home after a tree fell on it.

According to Duke Energy, there are now over 5,000 active power outages and over 300,000 customers in the Carolinas without power:

What was your experience like this morning?

Essay Topics on Living Through Pandemic

0

Due to this novel coronavirus, like most of the people, students are also homebound. Almost all schools are closed and adapted distance learning. Schools are trying to carry out educational activities so that students won’t have to compromise on their academic year.  While schools are learning to adjust remotely, most of the students are assigned tasks which they can carry out easily while being at their home. Most of the tasks are research-related or essays about the current pandemic situation.

Writing topics for college students

Considering the current situation, most of the students prefer to write essays about quarantine life as they can relate to it and easily discuss the challenges they are facing. While most of the students find this situation challenging, some wish to continue distance learning even after the situation gets better. While writing your college essay, you should know its purpose and its importance. Go through some essay examples free as it will add value to your knowledge and will help you to decide the topic which you will be choosing for your work. All those students who are enrolled in PhD know the value of PhD essay and how important it is for them to score maximum in essays to graduate.

Coronavirus impact on Students

The virus changed everyone’s life at 180 angles. Nothing is the same due to this pandemic situation and most of the people are homebound. It has changed the way people live, eat or play. All mega-events are postponed, which never happened in the past, all the organizations are working from home, and the way people used to socialize or communicate is not happening. Students are missing their schools, their academic life has been thoroughly disturbed and most of them are dealing with uncertainty. A chaotic situation for the most as their parents work and they have very limited indoor activities to perform.

Learning New Skills During Quarantine

All those students who are working on their essays can also discuss all those activities they learned while being in quarantine. All the tutorials are available online and now you have sufficient time to practice and experience new things. You can’t make an excuse about being short on time or the events lined up. Share your quarantine stories and tell what you did to make it purposeful or what tasks you completed, which were pending for a while now.

Effects of Coronavirus on Usual Routine

Students can also discuss the positive or negative effects of coronavirus in their regular life. What was their routine before this pandemic and what are they doing now to cope up with the anxiety caused due to the lockdown. How are they mourning over the mega-events which are canceled due to this nobel virus for which they were doing preparation for over months?

Living with emotional and Financial Strain

Due to lockdown, economies collapsed in the worst possible manner and a significant amount of employees were fired from work on one day notice. A large number of families are affected due to it and people are finding it really hard to meet both ends. You can discuss the causes of how families are suffering from physical health, financial crisis along with deteriorating mental health. People have zero physical activities and they are emotionally strained too. People being out of pay for the whole year have no idea what they are going to do next and how they are going to deal with this situation. There are numerous aspects that can be discussed in such essays if one knows which notes to hit exactly.

Struggles of Distance Learning

Although the majority of the schools are shifted online, school is not the same anymore. Sitting in front of the screen for hours is not an ideal scenario. The tendency of procrastination also increases while being at home. Most of the people sit on the sofa or lie down on the bed and just join the online sessions for the sake of attendance. Also, teachers cannot provide one on one help to their students. All these cases would also help you to create a persuasive essay.

All these topics can assist you in creating an impressive essay as you are going through the situation, so making it personalized would add more value to it. There are a lot more essay topics which can be related to the current situation but you need to choose the one which seems best to you.
