Best 7 Tips for Writing Excellent Essay in College

0

As a student, you are often asked to write essays at college. This is something you’ve always struggled with even at school. The little guidance, if any, you’ve got at school is of little help to write a college essay. This is true you can ask your colleague: “May you write my essay for college?” So, now you need to write several drafts, perhaps long ones, for college. The resources at hand are already plentiful yet you don’t know where or how to start. There are seven great tips, though, if you follow you’ll be on a right track for great essays.

Getting Started

This might seem very straightforward yet is often misunderstood by many students. You might have done your homework looking for how to get started. You’ve looked up “tips to write a good essay,” “how to write a good essay,” or “tips for writing essay.” Too much writing, too many examples. No problem. Let’s agree that all you need to do first is very simple: know your assignment. Despite an obvious step to do, most students don’t really fully grasp what an assignment is about. Not knowing exactly what you’re going to write about is for sure a straight path to an F. So, once you get an essay writing assignment, make sure you understand what your assignment is all about. If in doubt, simply double check with your instructor. Or, you can get great tips at doing pre-writing help at essay services.

Picking a Topic

So, you now have a topic assigned to you. So what? First off, you need to narrow down your topic a bit. That’s, in order to be able to do adequate research about any given topic, you need to know what you want to research exactly. This ensures you don’t waste your time doing so much research and, worse, wasting your time. Let’s say you’re assigned a topic about gig economy. This is already a very broad topic. To be more specific, you need to narrow down your topic into something such as millennials redefine work in a gig economy. This could, of course, be an initial suggestion. So, keep working on your choosing and narrowing down your topic.

Take notes. They are just great in helping you keep track of your thoughts.

Research Your Topic

Picking a topic is only an initial step to write a good essay. For many, writing a compelling topic is not just as easy. In your hurry to complete an essay examination or an essay writing test, you might simply almost skip research altogether. In fact, many student simply copy and paste sources to meet a deadline. Unless you’re using a professional writing service, research is indispensable for your essay. If you’re writing your first college essay, it’s okay to do some broad online research for your first draft. Unless you’re specifically asked by your instructor to look up certain sources, you shouldn’t spend days on end doing research.

This is similar to analysis paralysis. There is so much to learn and so much to write. You’ll never learn to write a good essay in one go. This needs practice. So, do your research homework but be modest.

Create an Outline

This should be obvious. Right? In fact, most students rush to keyboards and expect words to flow on screen. In reality, cursors keep blinking and little, if any, meaningful words come on screen. That’s why structure is absolutely important. To give your planned essay a structure, you need an outline. This comes in a diagram or bullet-styled form. In whatever form you choose, make sure keep your outline clear, simple and flexible. Often, you might need to tweak your outline a bit when you start your writing process. That’s why flexibility is important in your outline. Having a good structured essay needs practice. For a good starter, you might go to writemyessay4me for great ideas about writing outlines for your essay.

Narrow Your Focus

Focus. Focus. Focus. If anything, your writing should always be simple, clear and persuasive. To be so, you need to be focused, or economic, in using words and organizing your essay. For instance, you’ve already narrowed down your topic from gig economy to millennials redefine work in a gig economy. Now, you need to stick to your newly narrowed down topic. You don’t have to read books upon books on how to focus on writing an essay. (This is, ironically, not focusing.) Instead, just make sure you’re never off topic. Of course, you might “wander” during writing process. This is so common. Don’t worry. Every writer, including professionals, has wandered. Just ensure you stick to your outline as much as you can while writing. Later, during drafting, you should go over your wanderings.

Drafting

There is always a need to write essay better. There isn’t a college student who has not believed she would turn in a The Perfect Essay. Let’s agree on something. There is no such thing as a perfect essay. There is always a good essay. So, stop trying to be a perfectionist. (Well, you still can be a perfectionist but you’ve got to accept your classmates will graduate while you’re still trying. Good luck!) Think, instead, of drafts as attempts to better essays. Luckily, almost all instructors ask for several drafts before final submission. This is, actually, your opportunity to learn to hone your writing skills. So, keep drafting your essay and get as much feedback from your instructors and classmates.

Trim Edges: Edit and Proofread

So, now you have a draft. This is not, however, where your writing process ends.

Always remember, writing is a cyclic process: you go over all process over and again. So, editing and proofreading are essential for your first submission to be accepted. Over your whole essay and have a critical eye. Make sure you remove all silly mistakes such as grammatical ones. These almost always distance your reader (your instructor) and leave a bad impression about your writing. Plus, you should look at your sentence structure and transitions. These usually make your essay flow and, more importantly, enjoyable. For great editing and proofreading tips, you can go to essay writing help from essay basics.

Wrap up

Today, essay writing is critical for your college success. Many students struggle to write college essays. In a rush to submit assignments, students might skip several important steps in essay writing. To make matters simpler, seven tips can help you improve your essay writing skills enormously: know your assignment, pick and research your topic, create an outline, narrow

focus, draft and edit and proofread your drafts. That said, drafts should be understood as only attempts to better writing. So, keep writing and practice.

A 2020 Guide To Protecting Your Home From Bats

0

It is probably a pretty safe bet that there is not a single human that wants a bat to live in their home with them. Bats harbor many kinds of diseases, including rabies and now COVID-19. They are one of the most disease-ridden creatures, and it is a good idea to prevent them from coming into your home. Considering some doctors say you should get rabies shots if you even see a bat in your home, keeping bats out is very important. Keep reading for some ways to protect your home from bats in 2020.

Examine Your Home

Looking over your home for potential problem areas is the first step anyone should take when bat-proofing their house. What you should be looking for are any holes that could possibly allow a bat into your home. These are an easy fix, as caulking should fix most of these gaps or openings. If there are holes in drywall, fix the drywall and the problem is taken care of. Be sure that every door closes tightly with no gaps showing. Find all of the plumbing, electrical, and ventilation holes coming out of your house. Make sure that each of these is plugged with steel wool or caulked, as bats hate the feeling of it. The initial examination should reveal most of the easy fixes to your living areas. Now that this is done, move on to the attic and the roof.

Bats Love the Attic

Bats love dark, warm places. It is no surprise they love inhabiting people’s attics. The first thing you will want to do is to check your attic for any holes, gaps, or openings that could allow a bat entry into your home. Use any kind of screening device beneath the door to the attic, as this is one way a bat can get into your living area. Be sure to check all along outside entry points, as there are often a few openings outside that give bats easy entry. From May to August, there are more than likely young bats inside the attic that will die or crawl down into your living quarters.

Check the Roof

Your roof and where the roof meets the side of your house are potential trouble spots for bats entering your home. If your trim or fascia along the top of your house is loose, you have two options for fixing it. Use a clear or a certain color sealant to shore up the gap or you can bolt it down using a steel bolt. If your shingles or whatever other material your roof is made of are loose, bats can easily gain entry into your home. An easy way to fix this is with either sealant or a wire mesh netting that you put all along the roof. Visit batremovalattic.com for more DIY tips.

Hire Professionals

If you are not sure whether you have effectively bat-proofed your house or not, it might be a wise idea to call an expert for more information dealing with bats. Even if you did do a thorough job, professionals have seen problems for many years and will fix it right the first time.

Charlotte protests are attracting people from abroad as well

0

A march, which began early Monday evening in uptown Charlotte moved into North Davidson Street (NoDa). The protest has been mostly peaceful so far with minor aggressive cases spreading here and there. However, the leaders have been continuously urging attendees to remain peaceful to avoid escalation of the situation. The march has been met with positive feedback from the locals as well as the businesses operating in the region. People have been cheering the protesters from the balconies and windows and business owners have been spreading food and water near 33rd street.

Earlier in the night, the protesters marching in uptown Charlotte have circled around the city’s government building calling for an end to systematic racism and police violence. Mayor Lyles has stated that she saw around 3,000 people from the window of her office. Other crowds have also been gathering all over the city with the number of people ranging from 1000 to 2000 persons per group. By the end of the day, the numbers usually fall down to a couple of hundred.

Interfaith clergy members have held a “die-in” to protest the police using physical force as well as poisonous chemical agents on protesters. The white clergy was laying at the back for 8 minutes and 46 seconds, while their black associates stood with the posters stating “Am I next?” The amount of time was demonstrating the period it took the Minneapolis police officer to fatally choke George Floyd with his knee when he was gasping for air.

Charlotte has had one of the largest racial justice protests organized by churches in recent history. It has attracted the attention of many religious people from overseas, but it also comes with very demeaning attention. For example, according to Sven Bjergsen from Casinopånett.eu website, many European casinos are taking advantage of the situation in the US and featuring bets on how many people will show up. Both the authorities and more “respectful” establishments are trying to combat this issue, but the more relevant the protests become ,the more people will try to profit from it. However, as long as it doesn’t damage the movement it should not be an issue, but unfortunately, for many people, seeing these bets occur about the protests kind of dumbs down the whole agenda.

The Reverend, Glencie Rhedrick, who is a co-chair of Charlotte Clergy Coalition of Justice (CCCJ) and the organizer of the event has stated that this visualization was meant to show the community that the spiritual leaders are standing with them and are fully devoted to seeking justice for everyone. Rhedrick has added that “As clergy, we all understand that when one dies, we all die,” and that “To reflect the horror, the trauma, the sufferings, the dying and the anguish the black community experiences daily.”

All of the different faith clergies have united to create a joint statement about the abuse of chemicals and pepper spray against peaceful protesters from the police department following the Tuesday night’s clash between activists and the CMPD where chemical agents were deployed on marchers. This has been evaluated as an “ambush” from a lot of the people involved in the incident. The CMPD has officially launched a second investigation into this clash with the protesters.

Some of the activists have publicly stated their discontent with the proposals since they do not believe these demands to be going “far enough.” As many have called for more de-escalation training for the police officers highlighting the fact that African Americans are more subject to police brutality, which often ends with deadly results due to racism. Some have even gone as far as stating that the police department should be abolished as a whole.

The police have been peacefully accompanying the march as much as possible with some officers marching tens of miles all throughout the 9 days (and counting) of the protest. Although the speakers at the protests, organized by the NAACP, have been demanding the defunding of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Global foreign reserves are falling at a massive rate and the US is in the middle of it all

0

Reports are coming in from all over the world that foreign reserves are falling at lightning speed rates. The Saudis recently reported that they are expecting to lose ar the very least 120 billion Riyal (32 billion USD) from just having so many enterprises and companies abroad.

Considering that the Saudis have the United States as their closest trading partner, it’s not unreal to believe that the US is sailing in the very same boat.

Since we are already on the topic of Saudis, let’s take a look at how they are trying to combat this issue.

Foreign reserves are falling

The most immediate danger for the banks are the foreign reserves that are taking the largest hits. The Saudis decided that it would be much safer to take around $40 billion out of the central bank’s foreign reserves and transfer it into a sovereign fund. This would help ease the damage that the funds were already taking, hinting that the Saudi economy was in big danger.

Consider the fact that the Saudis have been trying to diversify their economy for more than a decade now, so all of these issues cannot be associated with oil price drops or anything similar. This is a true representation of a diversified economy suffering the perils of a global pandemic.

How is the world reacting

By removing so much from the foreign reserves, it’s very likely that the USD will appreciate relative to the Saudi Riyal, thus compelling many institutions and banks to start trading once again.

This is particularly good news for licensed American Forex brokers that would immediately start dumping their Riyal reserves and promote supplying more USD to the market.

But the issue is that the funds taken from the foreign reserve are not gone or anything, they’re just on a different account. But that doesn’t mean the prices will not react, in fact, they already have.

But the USD fell did it not?

The USD fell due to repeated action from the Federal Reserve to at least somehow combat the economic devastation that COVID-19 was causing. This paired up with controversies flaring up bout the WHO potentially underestimating the severity of the pandemic and we get a group of investors that are either panic selling or wishful buying.

No matter which of these is more dominant on the markets right now the reaction is quite clear, there is no recovery to be seen in the economy for the foreseeable future in the US. This is not because the situation is hopeless or anything, but because of the anticipation of 2020s economic growth. Now that there’s almost no way to reach the goal, investors will be more compelled to sell their assets and invest in safe havens such as gold or just cold hard cash.

Pension funds running dry

It’s no secret that every single reserve that the United States has currently is running dry. This is mostly due to income sources being extremely minuscule compared to what they were in the past. Not only have the largest companies stopped paying taxes due to paused operations, but they’re also requesting bailouts in order to survive the winter.

Although the bailouts are sometimes justified, the US also needs to think about the people who will still not have a place to work after all of this is done. This includes Americans living off-of pensions and grants as well as welfare neighborhoods.

Should these funds run completely dry, it is expected for poverty to skyrocket within a couple of weeks. People will either lose their homes completely, or homeownership will continue to concentrate very heavily with only a few individual companies or landlords.

This means much less economic diversification in poor neighborhoods and therefore an almost impossible challenge or re-vitalizing them for the future. Once every egg is in only one basket, it becomes even harder to keep them safe. The same goes for the housing market. Should only a handful of companies have ownership of a region’s housing market, it’s very unlikely for money to circulate in that community, and therefore create a deficit for the unemployed, the employed and the employers themselves.

The bottom line

The bottom line is that monetary and fiscal policies in the United States may ease the issues that are being prevalent today, but it will not remove them completely by at least Q1 of 2021. All of this is mostly based on our perception of value, and that not reaching imaginative goals is somehow a sign that things are going terribly wrong. Sure, there may be little or no growth in the US economy, but that doesn’t mean things are terrible, it is still going to be the #1 country in the list.

NC Racetrack Stages Fake ‘Protest’ To Let Fans Pack The Stands For This Weekend’s Races

0

A North Carolina racetrack is now creating controversy online after opening their track up to fans in spite of North Carolina’s Phase 2 restrictions by saying the event was being held “in peaceful protest of injustice and inequality everywhere”.

Under the current ‘Phase 2’ restrictions, outdoor gatherings, including car races, are limited to a maximum gathering size of 25 people, except for any gathering that fits under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, including protests.

Ace Speedway in Elon, North Carolina, attempted to skirt past the rules by posting the following sign outside of the track during the races this past weekend:

The live video from the race clearly show that the stands are mostly packed with far more than 25 people and little social distancing taking place:

The responses online have been mixed, with some supporting the decision, and others speaking out against it:

What do you think about the stunt?

Panthers, Hornets, and Knights Cut Ties With CPI After Racially Charged Statement From CEO

0

Five of the biggest sports organizations in the Carolinas have just cut ties with CPI Security after a controversial statement was sent by the CEO of the company.

Last week, Jorge Millares, the director of Queen City Unity sent out a letter to Charlotte’s Mayor, City Council, and several businesses, calling for Police Reform and Social Justice.

Ken Gill, the CEO of CPI Security, then replied to Millares’ letter with the following statement:

“George, Please spend  your time in a more productive way . I challenge your statistics
.
A better use of time, would be to focus on the black on black crime and senseless killing of our young men by other young men.
Have a great day.
Ken Gill”

via QueenCityUnity.org

Just one day after the email was posted, the Panthers announced they would be ending their marketing relationship with the company, saying:

“Last Saturday, we said we are committed to doing our part and we mean it.

CPI Security has been a long term partner but, upon reflection, we feel that it is right to end our relationship.

We have informed Mr. Gill of our decision tonight.”

Former Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart, who was the spokesman for dozens of CPI commercials, just commented in a tweet, “Bout to switch out CPI security system anyone got recommendations?”

Yesterday, the Charlotte Hornets and the Charlotte Knights both followed the Panthers’ decision:

Outside of Charlotte, the email has also caused NC State and USC to cut their ties with CPI:

CPI Security’s CEO has since issued an apology for his original statement:

What do you think about Gill’s statement?
