With consumers having spent around $312 per person in the period between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday last year, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its 2021’s Best Places to Go for Thanksgiving report.

To help Americans decide where to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast without breaking the bank, WalletHub compared the 100 largest U.S. cities across 20 key metrics. They range from the cost of Thanksgiving dinner and share of delayed flights to volunteer opportunities per capita and forecasted precipitation.

North Carolina dominated the list, with 3 of our cities ranking among the top 12 in the nation.

South End To Look More Like Uptown With New $750 Million 3-Tower Project

South End is about to bulldoze its fanciest strip club to make way for a massive new $750 million 3-tower mixed-use development.

The new project, spearheaded by Chicago’s Riverside Investment & Development firm, will transform the block where the Uptown Cabaret and the Midnight Diner sit into over 1.2 million square feet of commercial and residential space.

“We are very excited and honored to join the Charlotte business community and help transform the area between Uptown and South End, creating a world-class live-work-play environment that will contribute to the city’s already impressive growth story,” Riverside COO Anthony Scacco noted in a press release. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with local officials to ensure thoughtful urban planning at this important location.”

As part of the redevelopment agreement with the City of Charlotte, Riverside agreed to invest in a “robust set of right of way and street network enhancements, to ensure positive street network & traffic flow for Morehead Square Drive, S. Tryon Street, E. Carson Boulevard and E. Morehead Street”.

Construction is now planned to start by the end of next year (2022).

The owner of the Midnight Diner plans on moving it to another location in Charlotte.

Electric Bicycle Innovator Pedego Opening First Location in Charlotte Region

Pedego Electric Bikes just announced they will opening a new location in the Charlotte region. The company sells a unique type of electrified bicycle, that allows riders to travel up to 60 miles on 10 cents worth of electricity.

Pedego Lake Norman (19911 Zion Avenue, Cornelius, NC) will be holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate its grand opening at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 9th.

The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce will be in attendance, as well as representatives from the Town of Cornelius Board of Commissioners. The public is also invited to help celebrate the opening of Pedego Lake Norman and learn more about their electric bikes.

“We are excited to continue to bring the joy of Pedego to Lake Norman,” said Pedego CEO Don DiCostanzo.
