The Charlotte suburb town of McAdenville, affectionately known as ‘Christmas Town USA‘, has been ranked as having the 7th best holiday lights display in the nation, according to USA Today.

This impressive 1.3-mile spectacle in Gaston County’s quaintest town boasts over 500,000 lights adorning more than 375 trees, not including the additional decorations put up by residents.

Attracting over 600,000 visitors in more than 300,000 vehicles annually, the display leads to significant traffic congestion along various I-85 exits.

Economic impact studies have suggested the light display brings in $11.8 million in economic activity for McAdenville and the greater Charlotte area.

USA Today describes Christmas Town USA as follows:

McAdenville is nicknamed “Christmas Town USA” for good reason. Each winter, this small town in North Carolina transforms into a festive, twinkling wonderland, dotted with thousands of lights, dramatic displays, and a spirited Main Street. Hundreds of thousands of visitors come to Christmas Town USA every December to drive or walk by breathtaking holiday displays — a tradition that dates back to the ’50s.

Do you think Christmas Town USA should have been ranked higher?
