Rock Hill is preparing to become the center of the disc golf world this fall. The 2026 United States Disc Golf Championship will bring the sport’s biggest stars to Winthrop University in October.
The prestigious championship runs Oct. 8-11 at the Winthrop University Disc Golf Course. The tournament is a PDGA Pro Major, placing it among the highest-level competitions in professional disc golf.
Winthrop has become one of America’s most recognizable disc golf destinations. The course has even been called the “Augusta National of disc golf courses.” Its challenging layout features tight out-of-bounds areas and signature obstacles, including the famous bamboo wall on Hole 7.
The event will feature men’s and women’s professional competition, alongside the Throw Pink Women’s Disc Golf Championship.
Rock Hill already hosted another major disc golf championship this year. More than 300 collegiate teams nationwide arrived in April for the College Disc Golf National Championships.
Winthrop has now hosted that collegiate championship three times.
The October event will further cement Rock Hill’s growing reputation as a national disc golf destination while bringing players and fans to York County.
