Panthers End Losing Streak in 19-13 Win Against Atlanta Falcons

0

After a depressing 4-game losing streak, the Panthers finally won a game, and to make the win even sweeter, it was against division rivals, the Falcons.

We ran the ball 47 times for a total of 203 yards. QB Sam Darnold threw 13-24 for 129 yards, but was tragically taken out of the game in the 4th quarter with a concussion.

The Carolina defense forced 2 interceptions by Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan, with a key one being made by top linebacker Shaq Thompson.

“We have to play like this every week,” linebacker Shaq Thompson said in a press conference after the game. “It can’t be one side or the other; we have to pick each other up and really support each other. What you guys probably didn’t notice, when the offense was on the field, the defense was up. When the defense was on the field, the offense was up. That was big. That’s what we want to build this culture around.”

Here are the highlights from yesterday’s game:

Coyote Sightings Around The Charlotte Region Are On The Rise

0

Coyote sightings have continued to rise this Spring.

Since the animals aren’t native to our state, they’ve become an increasingly invasive species – growing in unsustainable numbers, competing against local foxes and wolves, and killing domesticated animals.

Over the past couple of years, a pack of coyotes killed a man’s 2 dogs in the front yard of his Iredell County home, and a German Shepherd therapy dog was recently attacked by a pack of coyotes in Weddington.

A local archery company recently captured this coyote with a newly killed fawn on their trail cam;

Since coyotes are not a native animal, they can be hunted year-round, even at night using flashlights – they can also be legally trapped from Nov. 1 to Feb. 28.

Some residents are now equipping their yards with flashing light coyote deterrents, and ultrasonic pest repellers, both of which work on solar power and are motion sensitive.

Officials with the animal control recommend:

▪ Keeping your yard free of any garbage or lingering food smells.

▪ Keep dogs on leashes when walking them, as coyotes are much less likely to approach if a person is nearby.

▪ Look around your backyard for the animals before you let the dogs out.

▪ If you encounter a coyote, back away slowly while yelling and waving your arms. Don’t run.

▪ Call 911 if you are being threatened by coyotes or other animals.

Have you seen any coyotes around your property?

Clothes Shopping Tips for Better Savings

0

From shoes and socks to hats and coats, clothing is an essential component of modern life. Everyone in your family, including yourself, wears dozens if not hundreds of different garments throughout the course of a year. And if kids are part of the equation, you’re tasked with constantly buying better-fitting clothes as they grow.

As a result, the typical mom spends anywhere between $150 and $400 on clothes every month. That adds up to thousands over the course of a year. Rather than let clothing take large bites out of your household budget, it’s time to take action. Fortunately, the ability to save money on clothes is easier than you think.

With this in mind, let’s take a look at five ways to reduce clothes spending for you and your family:

Go straight to the source

Buying clothing through Amazon is a convenient way to shop. But chances are you’re spending more by going through the retail giant instead of the designers themselves. Luckily, you don’t need to plan a trip to London or Milan. Whether it’s plus size clothing stores, lingerie boutiques, or sports-themed outfitters, chances are they have a website where you can buy direct. Doing so cuts out the middleman and cuts your clothes spending in the process.

Opt for outlet outings

Outlet stores are located in and around almost every major city in the United States. This means you’re probably an hour’s drive or less away from taking advantage of crazy deals on shoes, major discounts on clothes, and updating your wardrobe at a fraction of the cost of paying full price at first-run department stores. Even if you discover the options are a bit dated for your liking, your kids won’t know the difference!

Choose quality over quantity

We can all agree there’s a correlation between clothing cost and clothing quality. While some clothing items are destined to be destroyed and don’t need to be nice – t-shirts and gym shorts come to mind – but other articles of clothing are worth the cost of going premium. Anything meant for special occasions should be made of durable materials, which almost certainly means a higher price tag. But if you choose classic styles that never go out of fashion, you can rely on the same outfits for a decade or longer.

Embark on thrift store treasure hunting

If it’s the afternoon before a party and you need a specific type of outfit, going to the thrift store is probably asking too much. However, making the rounds once a month can lead to incredible finds you’d never expect. You might find a beautiful dress on sale for $4 because it used to be worn by someone else. Stick it in your closet, so next time there’s a special occasion, you’ve got the perfect garment ready to wear!

Jump on offseason sales

Clothing stores are constantly changing inventory to keep up with the seasons. This opens up the opportunity for shoppers to swoop in at the right time to take advantage of significant discounts on offseason shoes and attire. Fall is the perfect time to stock up on next summer’s clothing! However, it’s essential to know when to shop because these items go fast. There’s no shame in asking sales personnel about upcoming deals on out-of-season clothing.

Clothing, like food, is one of those things we can’t go long without. It may seem like we’re forced to spend a fortune on outfitting our families every year, but there are several ways for moms to chip away at the cost of buying clothes. All it takes is a willingness to take advantage of them going forward. If you could make $2000 by simply changing your shopping habits, wouldn’t you do it? That’s basically what happens when you start buying clothes the smart and savvy way.

9 types of employees the companies try to get rid of

0

Good employees contribute to the development of the company and strive for better results. But some pull the company down, negating all the efforts of other effective employees.

We offer a list of signs that are characteristic of those employees who are not liked by employers. If you suspect any of these characteristics, you should reconsider your behavior. After all, this can affect the work not only for the current employer but also for subsequent ones. You should take these characteristics into account when creating a CV with resume writing services online.

  • Employees who are not able to finish the job

Employers often say goodbye to employees who can’t complete the project they started and leave it halfway. Such employees do not know how to plan, and they are constantly hindered by force majeure circumstances to complete the task. The negative point is that the boss can often find out about the failure of the deadline and the inability to complete a certain task on the day of its occurrence or a few days in advance – if he asks. If this happens several times, drastic actions are usually taken, and the roads diverge.

  • The ones who don’t do what is promised

Employees who do not fulfill their promises immediately alarm the employer. Setting up colleagues or management is not a problem for them, they can come up with 100 and 1 excuses for why they failed to do what they promised, and blame others for it. If this happens systematically, then nothing good will come of it. After all, employers value employees who keep their word and are responsible for everything said and promised.

  • Non-independent employees

Employees who have problems with independence, who constantly need to be monitored and persuaded to do a certain task – a real test for the manager and colleagues. It’s one thing if an employee has just started working and asks questions, expects help – this is normal. But if they work for a company for a long time and come up with a question that they may well find out the answer to themselves + they have the appropriate qualifications – this is annoying. They don’t like such employees. Liberation is not the best way to encourage independence, but this method is practiced.

  • Employees who don’t want to learn

Employees who do not have the desire to learn, develop, are not focused on achieving success, and do not set new goals for themselves, are alarming employers. In this case, there are two possible scenarios: either the company will think about the reasons for the lack of desire to learn and possible ways to resolve the situation (if this is due, for example, to the fact that the employee does not see the connection between their efforts and remuneration), or simply look for a replacement.

  • Employees who repeat the same mistakes

When an employee makes a mistake for the first time, sometimes it is enough to pay attention to what needs to be corrected. But if the same error is repeated, you need to understand the reasons: they talk to the employee and report the possible consequences of their mistakes/incorrect decisions.

Systematic errors are not easy to correct, if you are not working to change this – to understand and solve the problem – it will be difficult to work with you.

  • Toxic employees

Employers almost always try to get rid of toxic employees. After all, they poison the atmosphere in the team. With their pessimism, disbelief in the success of a project (another task)/unprecedented prospects/skepticism/criticism, etc., they destroy the team. Often, such employees spread negativity, see it in everything, and spread it around them. Slowly but surely poison the environment and undermine the motivation of other employees. The company should say goodbye to such employees.

  • Lovers of intrigue and gossip, liars

Lying in both personal and work relationships is unacceptable. People who do not know how to live without scandals and are constantly looking for those they will hate – will not benefit any company.

They are the most dangerous and can destroy the team. They get rid of them even without hesitation.

  • Employees who don’t enjoy their work

It is not surprising that such employees perform their work carelessly, hack and dump their duties on colleagues and subordinates. They sit in their pants for nothing and have a bad effect on others.

Other colleagues often complain about a slacker colleague to the management.

  • Managers who can only manage, but do not understand the work processes and do not know how to “do the job”

Subordinates of such a manager often find themselves under pressure in the style of “I’ll tell you what to do”, they seem to be playing boss. Such a manager strives exclusively to command subordinates, and not to help them learn and develop, he cannot insure himself and help if necessary.

All the good ideas, aspirations, and enthusiasm that employees bring to the profession come to naught. As a result, employees just want to run away, the reason for their dismissal is the behavior of the boss. Therefore, not to leave the best employees, it is better to replace the manager himself.

How to talk about your disadvantages to get a job: effective life hacks

You will have to hear questions about weaknesses in almost every interview. After all, this is one of the typical questions that demonstrates the candidate’s objectivity and makes it possible to predict how he will perform work tasks or work in a team. Before getting into the interview stage, I had to edit my resume first.

If you prepare for an interview and know in advance that you can answer questions about weaknesses in such a way that they want to hire you.

Yes, everyone has weaknesses, but some can help in their work, while others will not please anyone. No matter what job you are applying for, it is better to keep silent about what will prevent you from doing any job. So don’t talk about:

  • the habit of constantly being late or breaking deadlines – it is unlikely that you will find an employer who likes an employee who comes in the middle of the working day or ignores an important task;
  • negative attitude to criticism-work is rarely limited to praise, so an employee who becomes depressed after the slightest remark is not the best option;
  • perfectionism, workaholism, excessive love of work – recruiters have already heard millions of times about such useful weaknesses that they have learned to question them.

Some weaknesses can have a negative impact depending on the specific profession. For example, an accountant doesn’t need to be told that they are inattentive to details, and a sales manager doesn’t need to be told that they are uncommunicative.

Well, the main taboo is saying that you don’t have weaknesses. So the employer will decide that this is a narcissistic candidate who is not capable of introspection.

How to talk about weaknesses

So how do you talk about your weaknesses to get the desired offer? Be honest with your employer about the knowledge or skills that you lack for the job. However, immediately indicate that you know how to improve them and may have already started working on it:

“I haven’t had to make PowerPoint presentations before, so I have a little practical knowledge. However, I’m already working on improving them: I watch many tutorials.”

You can also talk about negative habits that can have a bad effect on your work. But also immediately add that you know how to deal with yourself and keep everything under control.

“I’m an owl, and it’s very difficult for me to wake up in the morning and be productive. But I’ve learned to allocate my time in such a way that I can do tasks that require less concentration in the morning and do painstaking and important things later. Besides, I never leave work in the evening until I finish my business so that they don’t stay for the morning.”

4 Moving and Packing Tips for a Less Stressful Move

0

The packing, the heavy lifting, and the sheer mayhem that moving ensues make you never want to move. However, whether it’s for a job or personal reasons, almost everyone goes through at least one such experience in their lifetime.

So if you are currently in the process of moving or you hope to do so soon, here are a few tried and tested tips to make things a bit smoother.

1. Hire a Moving Company

We know, working with a professional mover can be expensive. However, when you draw the line and add the non-monetary costs of stress, strained muscles, and the huge chunk of time that moving takes, you’ll see you can’t afford a DIY move.

Sure, if you don’t have to go too far and have a lot of helpful friends willing to break their back and give up on their free time to help you, then you may be able to pull off a DIY move. However, in any other situation, it’s best to hire a moving company.

Plus, nowadays you have Agoyu! This is an online platform that allows you to browse movers and compare prices until you find the one that fits your budget and needs.

2. Plan Ahead

When we say plan, we really mean getting pen and paper and making a detailed moving plan that includes costs, a realistic timeline, risks, supplies needed for the job, and more. Once you have the plan in place, separate everything into to-do lists for every member of the family. This way, everyone will get to chip in and the workload will be divided fairly.

Quick tip: install a note app with collaboration features on your phone and keep it handy. As you move through the house, new ideas about the move will pop up. When they do, put them in your phone and share them with everyone else involved in the process.

This way, you remember all your genius ideas and the family has the chance to tell you if they’re dumb or not.

Lastly, as the moving day draws near, create a checklist to make sure you don’t forget anything. This way, as things get done, you can check them off your list one by one.

3. Do a Purge

You’ve probably heard this from all your friends who moved before you. The purge means to throw away or donate everything that sits around the current location just because you had the space.

Clothes, toys, decorative objects, furniture items, anything you don’t really like or use should not be taken to the new location. Try thinking just like a minimalist in order to get rid of everything that clutters your space.

A good rule of thumb is “if you haven’t used it in a year, get rid of it”. Also, if you are the kind of family who stores everything in the garage (or in any other location), we suggest you start there with the purge.

4. Use a Labeling System

Things can get hectic once everything is packed up and loaded into the truck. But if you use a labeling system that’s easy to identify, it will make things simpler at the new location. Our advice is to use colors or numbers to have a clear visual cue of what’s inside a box or container without having to open it.

This way, you’ll know which box goes where and everything will be distributed without too much back-bending.

Wrap Up

Yes, moving can be stressful, especially if you are starting a new job as well.

Quick tip – if you are moving to North Carolina in search of a job, check out some of the most paycheck-friendly counties.

Regardless, if you know how to organize everything and take your time, things should go on smoothly.

Read if you have been hurt on the job and don’t’ know who to call

0

If you’ve been hurt at work, do you know who to call? In this article there are tips to help you understand what you can do if you are injured on the job. You have to be aware that these are only suggestions and you will need to consult with a legal team to discuss the legalities of it all as these are mere tips on what may take place after an injury on the job.

A workplace injury lawyer has a deep understanding of workplace injuries’ laws and can guide and assist in suing an employer or claiming worker’s compensation benefits. In this article there are tips to help you understand what you can do if you are injured on the job. You have to be aware that these are only suggestions and you will need to consult with a legal team to discuss the legalities of it all as these are mere tips on what may take place after an injury on the job.

Steps to Take If You Are Injured At Work

The first step to take if you are injured on the job is to report the incident to your immediate supervisor or manager in the area. The next step is to seek immediate medical treatment if needed.

It also helps if you can report it in writing. Some states require a written statement of the incident, and the human resources department can assist with clarification for your state.

Some states enforce deadlines with reporting workplace injuries. There are statutes of limitations and short filing deadlines that may apply. You must file immediately to avoid compromising your legal rights to receive workers’ compensation benefits.

Medical Care: Your Doctor or the Company Doctor

Some states allow you to see your healthcare provider for workplace injuries or illnesses, while others require a company-sponsored doctor to provide medical services. In many instances, workers are directed to doctors paid for by their employers.

This is another reason to consult with a workplace injury lawyer familiar with state laws as they pertain to workers’ rights.

Filing a Workers Compensation Claim

You may be able to file a worker’s compensation claim but should contact your workplace injury lawyer about filing all necessary papers for legal representation in this matter to ensure that you are taken care of properly under state law.

It is possible that Injuries that are not covered under workers’ compensation insurance will need to be addressed by other means (such as a personal injury lawsuit).

Workers Compensation Benefits

Workers’ compensation can cover the doctor’s diagnosis and medical expenses to treat the workplace injury or illness. This would generally include office visits, prescriptions, medical equipment, and surgery. In addition, workplace rehabilitation benefits are available if the injured party will need to change jobs. Keep in mind these are assumptions and claims should be taken up with your legal counsel.

Claim Resolutions and Workplace Injury Attorneys

Outside of Workers Compensation, a personal injury lawsuit or another form of legal representation can be used to secure necessary financial compensation for workplace injuries.

Best Way to Fix a Toenail Crack

0

Many people suffer from cracked toenails from time to time, and they are more common than you might think. It can be a sign of poor health or something more severe going on in the body. There are many methods that will focus on improving the integrity of the nail bed, as well as preventing any potential cracking in the future. Because we walk on our feet as human beings, a lot of people take their toenail health for granted. That is why this guide has been developed to help you fix a cracked toenail, and strengthen your nails. Through

Injury, infection, harmful chemicals, or even vitamin deficiency, the body uses visuals to show us that there is something wrong with overall functioning.

Some methods below depend on the state of your toenail crack and how deep it runs, so a great place to start is to figure out the severity of it. If you see blood or signs of infection, it is important that you consult your doctor rather than trying to deal with it yourself. There is a chance that you risk making it worse otherwise.

Diet

Speed up nail regrowth by eating calcium-rich foods. Leafy greens such as kale, and dairy products are great sources of calcium that aids healing as well as improve overall nail health. If you want your nail to grow back from the crack, then this can be a good way to accelerate the process. This is more of a preventative and for additional healing properties, you could try supplements or taking a multivitamin if you aren’t already.

Super Glue

If you have checked and can see that the toenail crack is surface level, you might want to try using superglue to keep it intact while the nail grows back. This is an easy option if you have some lying around because the glue can be filed down once it has fully dried. A disadvantage of this method is that if you have any doubts about how deep the toenail crack goes, then you should not use super glue on it because it is a harmful substance that is not intended for bodily use. Additionally, it is important to allow the glue time to dry and set in order to be fully effective. This can be a little inconvenient because it takes longer to fix than some other methods.

Paper

Another option for fixing a cracked toenail is by using a small piece of paper. This is often done on fingernails, although the precipice remains largely the same. Coat the nail in a clear coat of nail polish, then cover the crack with a piece of paper large enough to cover the whole thing. Do this while the polish is still a little sticky. Then allow it to dry, and then coat with another clear coat to strengthen. This isn’t always the best option for toenails and is much more of a cosmetic solution. Nonetheless, it does the job of filling a crack on the nail surface while allowing the healthier nail to grow.

Prevent Cracking

Another preventative method to avoid this from happening in the future or recurring injury is to ensure you are taking proper care of your toenails. Take care of your toes and overall foot health by washing daily with warm soapy water and regularly using a pumice stone. Avoid cutting toenails too short as they are likely to become infected or ingrown, which can be extremely painful. If you have particularly thick toenails you might want to file them often, this can be done using a different type of file for fingernails in order to maintain hygiene. Keep the nail beds healthy with vitamin E oil. Additionally, you could take multivitamins that focus on bone and nail growth to allow stronger toenails that are more resistant to cracking.

Overall, there are several remedies for fixing a cracked toenail, depending on the severity and what items you have around the house. Of course, if you think that you can see blood, bruising, or infection under the nail itself, then get your doctor to look at it. The crack might run deeper if your toe has been through some level of trauma, such as having something very heavy dropped on it. A common injury in those with farming backgrounds is horses or cows stepping on their toes, causing severe cracking. That is why there have been many remedies developed as well as preventative measures.
