Music Time: YouTube & New AI Innovation

0

YouTube isn’t afraid of implementing new technologies and providing outstanding tools to elevate the professionalism and creativity of musicians — that is what its partnership with Google is all about. At the same time, the system won’t leave you in the dark and keep you aware of how this or that type of content is generated. In future updates, YouTube plans to advance its notifications and add special marks for synthetic content on the site.

Let’s take a sneak peek at how the platform transforms music-creation and YouTube promo opportunities for interested parties. Mind the gap!

The Lyria Model on YouTube

This platform will acquire the latest technology from Google DeepMind — Lyria. In a nutshell, it is a suite of tools and techniques under the same roof, aimed at producing high-caliber music of any character. Its nature lies in navigating through the peculiarities of instrumental and vocal music, handling jobs to advance the user’s control over the final product and its quality.

As of now, traditional generative AI systems lack flexibility and versatility in analyzing large pieces of divergent information, hidden in music — from vocal harmony to the voice pitch per second. With the help of the Lyria model, this drawback will be possible to eliminate.

The global mission of the model is to resolve copyright issues in the industry and determine unique elements in the song or AI-composed copies. This way, artists will get a better perspective of combining classic music styles and the use of artificial intelligence in the industry.

Innovation #1: The Dream Track

This AI-empowered challenge will take place in YouTube Shorts. Interested parties will be able to apply new tools to entertain their audiences and increase their engagement through unusual formats of music communication and creation. As of today, nine amazing artists will get a chance to test this feature’s functionality and efficiency, showing in practice how AI shapes songwriting and music creation processes. In thirty seconds on Shorts, AI tools will post a ready-made version of a track that aligns with the preset terms and requirements.

Innovation #2: Music AI Tools on YouTube

YouTube’s developers have presented the result of their collaboration with the leading composers, musicians, and producers — the so-called Music AI Incubator. It takes music creation processes to the next level, enabling enthusiasts to generate and edit content right on the platform. For instance, it will be possible to add a realistic vocal chorus to your melody or instrumental parts like violin or guitar lines.

Boosting Creativity with YouTube’s AI Explorations

Content creators usually use third-party solutions to work on their informational and entertainment products. With the recent update from YouTube, this is about to change for the better. Although the distinguished platform has never disappointed with its tool stack, AI-based services now provide special opportunities to mitigate risks (like copyright issues) and allocate available finances and resources competently. Continue reading to figure out what methods can fuel the sparkle of revolution in your professional tactics.

AI Insights

AI Insights can be your prominent troubleshooting solution. Its functionality guarantees an effective kickstart of artists’ channels with the opportunity to stay aware of the latest trends. You can locate this feature in the YouTube Studio menu. Since it is a data-driven feature, the outcome involved ready-made and well-tuned outlines and thematic concepts on what videos to edit next. A bit of practice to see how things work is enough to use it to the fullest.

Assistive Search in Creator Music

Not only will you obtain AI video suggestions on specific themes, but YouTube will also come in handy to simplify music search and choice from its library for upcoming content releases. It is an advantageous feature to brighten your visuals without violating copyright guidelines — they are planned to be free and well-curated. Whether you need a suitable track for your vlog during a music tour or an autobiographical documentary to emphasize your journey, YouTube has got you covered.

YouTube has always been user-oriented and tailored to the interests of performers and content makers from multiple fields. With this boom of AI-empowered technologies, it presents a more advantageous interface to help you organize your process and achieve great results from scratch to hatch. YouTube launches will become more exciting and enticing over time, so stay tuned to learn about impressive news first.

Are AI-Empowered Experiments in the Music Industry Worth It?

Artificial intelligence is a controversial topic to discuss, especially when it comes to copyright, royalties, and other policies. Nevertheless, its brilliant potential can’t be underestimated. Its tools have already changed the way YouTube algorithms work, and more is yet to come.

If done correctly, such experiments won’t harm musicians. On the contrary, this new innovation from YouTube will only drive their creativity and help them discover amazing genres and align with ever-changing standards in the market.

The Panthers Just Suffered Their First Shutout Loss Since 2002

0

The Carolina Panthers just suffered their first shutout loss in over 20 years yesterday.

Yesterday afternoon in Florida, the Panthers took a 26-0 beating against the Jacksonville Jaguars an abysmal 26-0 defeat against the Jacksonville Jaguars, marking their first shutout loss since the 7th week of 2002.

The Panthers, now with a record of 2-14, struggled offensively against the Jaguars’ strong defense and backup quarterback C.J. Beathard. The Jaguars, now 9-7, were without their regular quarterback Trevor Lawrence due to injury.

The Panthers‘ offense was ineffective, managing only 124 total yards and a mere 57 on the ground, setting a new season low. Rookie quarterback Bryce Young was sacked six times and completed 19 of 32 passes for 112 yards with one interception. This performance starkly contrasts with his recent success in games against the Packers and Falcons.

Adding to the Panthers’ woes, kicker Eddy Piñeiro was sidelined due to hamstring tightness, and linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill had to handle the opening kickoff. The team’s frustration culminated in the fourth quarter when defensive tackle Derrick Brown was ejected following an altercation with Jaguars’ Cam Robinson.

This past weekend’s loss leaves the Panthers at 2-14 as they approach the season’s final week.

Belmont Just Dumped Nearly 10,000 Gallons of Raw Sewage Into The River

The City of Belmont just dumped nearly 10,000 gallons of untreated wastewater into the South Fork River this week after heavy rainfall overwhelmed their treatment system.

North Carolina General Statutes Article 21 Chapter 143-215.1C required them to issue a public statement when these types of discharges occur.

Here is their public statement:

“The City of Belmont had an incident where untreated wastewater was discharged into North Carolina surface waters. The discharge incident was the result of heavy rains on the morning of December 26, 2023, which overloaded a City of Belmont wastewater lift station. The address of the discharge is 2021 Oaks Parkway, and the overflow affects the South Fork River.

The discharge at 2021 Oaks Parkway is estimated at approximately 9,900 gallons. Overflow cleaning, repairs, and inspections were performed by the City of Belmont’s Water Distribution and Collections Division of the Public Works Department.”

South Carolina in Flu Emergency: Highest Activity Reported Nationwide

0

Rapidly rising flu cases have put South Carolina on high alert, with the state now sharing the top spot with Louisiana for the highest flu activity in the U.S. for the week ending December 16, according to recent CDC data.

Over 4,500 new flu cases were reported in South Carolina during that week, marking the highest weekly count in the state this year. The flu season has been particularly severe, with 12 deaths linked to the flu, half of which occurred in the Upstate region.

The Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) provided further insights in their latest report:

  • A total of 370 flu-related hospitalizations were recorded this week from 54 hospitals.
  • Since the beginning of the current flu season, there have been 1,115 hospitalizations due to influenza.
  • This week saw one flu-related death, bringing the season’s total to 12.
  • The following counties in the Upstate region have reported flu cases exceeding the state’s baseline:
    • Oconee
    • Pickens
    • Greenville
    • Anderson
    • Laurens
    • Spartanburg
    • Newberry

Residents are urged to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from the flu.

In addition to the flu shot, many Carolinians are turning to alternative types of remedies to avoid the potentially deadly virus.

One of the most common alternative remedies that an increasing number of people are swearing by is essential oils, and especially essential oil blends that are specifically crafted to kill viruses and boost immune systems.

Others are turning to a more ancient fruit-derived remedy to fight the flu – Elderberry Syrup. One local resident has even started a new company, Sweet’s Syrup, bottling and selling her own brand of the stuff in shops all around the Queen City.

While most alternative remedies have been slow to find favor with the NCDHHS, NC Health officials do recommend taking extra vitamins, exercising, and eating healthier to strengthen your immune system as this year’s flu season ramps up.

Remembering a Hero: Charlotte Bridge To Be Renamed in Honor of Officer Mia Goodwin

0

A bridge in Charlotte’s University City neighborhood is soon to be named the “Officer Mia Goodwin Bridge” in memory of the late Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officer, Mia Goodwin. Tragically, Officer Goodwin lost her life in December 2021 while assisting in the closure of a section of Interstate 85, struck by a truck driver who collided with police vehicles and another tractor-trailer.

During the upcoming dedication ceremony, CMPD Chief Johnny Jennings remarked that the bridge’s renaming ensures that “her legacy will live on forever” every time someone passes by. In the two years since her passing, various events have been held in her honor, and the driver responsible for the accident has been sentenced to 29 months in prison.

The decision to name the bridge in Officer Mia Goodwin’s honor was approved by the Charlotte City Council in September of the prior year, and NCDOT recently gave its final approval. A private dedication ceremony is scheduled for Friday afternoon to commemorate the renaming, symbolizing the lasting impact of Officer Goodwin’s dedicated service to her community.

Another Earthquake Rattles Small Town South of Charlotte – Elgin’s 90th Aftershock

0

This morning at 3:16am, another earthquake struck the small town of Elgin, SC, located between Charlotte and Columbia, bringing the total to 90 quakes around the small town over the past 2 years.

According to the USGS, the quake had a magnitude of 2.2 and a depth of 2.7 km.

The earthquakes around Elgin have been increasing in number and magnitude since they first started in late 2021, with the largest being a magnitude 3.6, which knocked out the power for hundreds in the area.

Earthquakes have been increasing in frequency around the Charlotte region over the past few years. Last year, we experienced the largest earthquake in over 100 years when a 5.1 magnitude quake hit Sparta, NC, and since then, dozens of aftershocks have continued to rattle our state.

According to USGS.gov, “Moderately damaging earthquakes strike the inland Carolinas every few decades, and smaller earthquakes are felt about once each year or two.”

Have you felt any of the quakes?
