Charlotte Investment Firm To Make History With Purchase of Hydrogel Vision Corp

0

Charlotte-based Black Pearl Global Investments has just entered into an agreement to acquire Florida-based contact lens manufacturer Hydrogel Vision Corp. (HVC). As a result of the acquisition, HVC will be known as Black Pearl Vision, becoming the only Black-owned and woman-owned contact lens manufacturer in the world. The deal is expected to close by mid-September.

“It’s exciting to celebrate this milestone as we close out National Black Business Month,” said Dr. Shante Williams, CEO of Black Pearl Global Investments. “We recognized the company’s potential and quickly saw the opportunity of how we could help train talent for jobs of tomorrow.”

HVC, a division of Clerio Vision, is best known for its Extreme H20 contact lenses, which are made from a proprietary ultra-hydrating material that retains up to 99% of their moisture. Located in Sarasota, Florida, the manufacturer produces lenses in multiple sizes – smaller options for those with smaller corneas or narrower eyelids, and larger lenses for those with larger corneas or athletic lifestyles – as well as opaque-colored contacts for those with astigmatism. Black Pearl Vision plans to introduce new products to consumers early next year.

Through the deal, Black Pearl Global Investments will also acquire the 33,926-square-foot Food and Drug Administration-regulated manufacturing facility in Sarasota. Williams says the firm plans to incorporate more space where new businesses can integrate research, development and manufacturing into their processes.

“We know that venture capital and private equity are among the least diverse areas in the financial sector,” Williams said. “We approached this deal with how to make a great company even better but also with the mindfulness of what it could mean for emerging minority-owned businesses.”

Black Pearl Vision will retain HVC’s 38 employees while increasing the number of jobs in the area.

Charlotte-area residents were honored this week by Dole as “Healthy Hometown Heroes” for their work organizing mobile pantries and other food distribution events as part of a larger mission to eliminate hunger in the region.
Nelson Montoya, president of Dole Fresh Fruit, a division of Charlotte-based Dole Food Company, Inc.  recognized 11 team members from Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina and the Food Lion Supermarket at The Plaza in Noda as part of Dole Healthy Heroes, Assemble!, a nine-month empowered-living and community involvement program that recruits and celebrates everyday heroes in the fight for a healthier, more selfless and extraordinary world.
These local heroes were acknowledged during a drive-through food distribution event at Nations Ford Elementary in Charlotte hosted by Second Harvest Food Bank and featuring the donation of DOLE® fresh fruits and vegetables provided in partnership with Food Lion Feeds. Second Harvest, Food Lion and Dole collaborated on a similar mobile pantry event in Charlotte earlier this month.
“We have been saluting local heroes from all across the country this year who are working to better their neighborhoods, so it is a privilege to celebrate the efforts of a group with a similar passion for our hometown of Charlotte,” said Montoya. “I am proud of the partnership that Second Harvest, Food Lion and Dole have created to address food insecurity in our community. It is a great example of the heroic results that are possible when different groups – in this case a brand, retailer and nonprofit – come together for a common good.”
Established in 1981, Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina (SHMETROLINA) strives through education, advocacy, and partnerships to eliminate hunger by the solicitation and distribution of food.
Food Lion Feeds is the philanthropic arm of Food Lion Supermarkets focused on alleviating food insecurity in Food Lion communities.
The broader Dole Healthy Heroes, Assemble! initiative, continues through Sept. 10 with original recipes, DOLE® Banana stickers and DOLE® Pineapple tags, digital downloads, web and social activations and other free deliverables inspired by the Super Heroes of the Marvel Universe.
Heroes 13 years or older (19 in Alabama and Nebraska and 21 in Mississippi) are encouraged to enter Dole’s Celebrate Super Heroes Contest for an opportunity to win up to $3,000 in cash prizes. There is no cost to enter but some restrictions apply. For full contest rules, click here.

Several Charlotte videos and images are now going viral after a bald eagle and his trainer were spotted going through a TSA security check at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

Exotic Animal Trainer Daniel Cone was taking a Southwest Airlines flight home to St. Louis after teaching students at High Point University about the majestic 8-lb bald eagle.

According to a statement the TSA released on Twitter:

“TSA officers are used to seeing an eagle on their uniform as they look over their shoulder, but I’m sure the team at @CLTAirport Checkpoint A did a double take when they saw a real one earlier this week.

Our special guest was Clark the Eagle with the World Bird Sanctuary, who decided to give his wings a break and fly commercial. His airline notified us and we screened him and his handler. Clark is trained to spread his wings, and even showed off a bit during screening.”

How to Choose Online Casino with Fast Payouts

0

Most casino players prefer fast payout casinos over the slower ones because they dislike the uncertainty of their winnings making it into their accounts. Once you have met set wagering requirements, the next natural thing would be to ensure the cash you win is safely deposited into your account through the fastest payout. You do not have anything hindering you from enjoying the fruits of your labor.

Today, several of the fastest payouts banking options are secure, relatively cheap, and easy to access, thanks to the numerous casino sites that have heeded gamers’ requests. This article outlines how to land fast payout online casinos, and why you should place this requirement at the top of your list when choosing a suitable one.

Tips to Ensure Fast Payouts in Instant Withdrawal Casinos

Your choice of a casino should match the speed with which you want deposits and withdrawals to be processed. The fastest casino is preferred because you can start with casino games immediately instead of waiting for several minutes for approval. The same goes for withdrawals that usually take a few hours as they go through some processes, but the best online casinos will not take days to release your money.

Look for eWallets

One of the ways to ensure instant payout at an online casino is by looking at its banking options. Digital wallets are fast and effective because they lack the encumbrance of traditional banks.

Some popular eWallets at a modern real money casino include:

  • Skrill
  • Neteller
  • Instadebit
  • WebMoney
  • PaySafe
  • Bitcoin
  • Ecopayz

These are some of the options recommended by AUсasimile, which reviews the top Australian online casino real money sites. These are online casinos with genuine and reasonably large bonuses, games with high RTP, they are licensed and regulated for all players within their jurisdictions. These reputable online casino sites are licensed and work with renowned software developers to bring gamers top-notch gaming products, and their websites are customized for mobile adaptability.

What are eWallets, and are they fast, dependable, and safe? You can operate them through mobile phones, which reduces the time you need to spend on your PC, and they are encrypted to protect the messages that pass between you and them. They are cheap, too, top quality for gamblers that know the cost of international money transfers. So, you will benefit from checking the available digital payment options at a site before registering an account.

Check Online Reviews

You need to read the online reviews at AUcasimile before you get into an online casino because existing users know how payouts are processed. Usually, you don’t want to rely on overly optimistic comments because they could be bought, so you want to apply your best judgment when reading them. If the reviews address something you may want clarification on, you may want to reach out to the customer care team for more insights, which should also tell the sort of team you are dealing with.

Make Sure You Meet Your Wagering Requirements

These are conditions that dictate how a person collects winnings generated from a promotion. When a casino says you can only collect your bonus after hitting 10* the offer for a $10 bonus, it means you will need to play $10*10=$100 to withdraw the winnings generated from the promo as well as (sometimes) the initial bonus.

Sometimes, these conditions are hard to meet, especially when you have a limited selection of games, which is why you want to understand what is expected of you beforehand. You will have an easier time if you are allowed to play games with higher stakes and great returns, such as Mega Moolah, which is well known across casinos. This game’s symbols remind you of blackjack with an ace for buffalo and king, a giraffe for the queen, a zebra to represent jack, and a Kudu being card number 10. Being a progressive jackpot, the chances of winning are quite slim, but the payout online is phenomenal. You can read about the conditions on the casino’s page where all these games are offered.

Make Sure You Are Playing at a Safe and Regulated Casino

You want to play for real money at a casino that displays its license number on the homepage for everyone to see and verify. Any reputable site will carry a license from any of the best-known licensors – Malta, Alderney, Great Britain, and Curacao, among other giants. The reviews that analyze every trustworthy fast payout casino are very helpful when one needs to find such a site. The ones listed by AUcasimile – Spin Samurai, Katsubet, Ricky, and King Billy, among others, have impressive bonuses and gaming products to cater to all levels of gamers, which is what you want when selecting a site.

Why does licensing matter? The bodies that regulate these sites place strict conditions that dictate how sites treat the money placed with them, and they are required to ensure all their offerings are fair. They are also mandated to explain how they will treat the data they collect from you, which should matter as you will be sharing some sensitive info. Licensing will ensure this is in place.

Bottom Line

You do not want your winnings to be stuck in your account for months with no way to get them owing to a site’s preset conditions. Before registering an account or interacting with its products, read the site’s terms to see if they meet the above mentioned regulations. If you have no way of getting your rewards and winnings quickly, you may want to treat that as a red flag and move on to the next casino, as there is no shortage of great gaming sites.

Charlotte Just Approved Drinking On City Streets in New “Social Districts”

0

The Charlotte City Council has just voted to approve a new city ordinance that allows for the creation of specially designated ‘social districts’ where open container alcoholic beverages will be allowed on public sidewalks.

The new ordinance requires that beverages must be purchased from an ABC approved bar, restaurant or other establishment, and consumed within the boundaries and hours of the specific social district. The containers also must have clear labels with the specific social district’s logo and name.

“[Social districts are] a great way for us to be able to help our small, local businesses in the community,” said Council Member Larken Egleston in a press release. “It will require more work on the back end of this vote by the next council to approve the specific districts that come in.”

While the broad ordinance is now approved for the city, individual social districts must now be designated and approved by the council.

According to the ordinance, potential new districts must:

Apartment Construction in Charlotte Metro to Prepandemic Levels

0

A recent analysis of over 125 U.S. metro areas concluded that no less than 420,000 new apartments are expected nationwide this year. Considering the total deliveries for 2021, apartment construction is at a 50-year high — the last time developers completed more than 400,000 rentals in one single year was in 1972.

According to the analysis by RentCafe, the Charlotte metro is on track to return to prepandemic levels in terms of projected apartments. Moreover, the city of Charlotte secured a spot among the Top 20 Cities with the most units already delivered in 2022.

  • With 8732 new units expected to be delivered this year, apartment construction in Charlotte metro dropped 21.7% compared to 2021 deliveries. But the projected deliveries for 2022 are almost on par with the number of units completed in 2019, showing the metro’s return to a steady pace of apartment construction.
  • The city of Charlotte accounts for most of the projected apartments — approximately 6,000. Out of those, 2172 new apartments have already been delivered this year, placing Charlotte among the top 20 cities by number of apartments built in the first half of 2022.
  • Huntersville, Indian Trail and Kannapolis all have strong multifamily pipelines as well. Around 760 apartments are projected to enter the Huntersville market this year, while Indian Trails and Kannapolis will see the completion of more than 500 units.

Charlotte Ranked As Having The 6th Biggest Housing Bubble In America

0

While most people believe Charlotte’s housing market has hit its peak, one analyst is now predicting a 27% decline is home prices, ranking Charlotte among the top 10 worst housing bubbles in the nation.

Reventure Consulting released their new housing bubble report earlier this month, which analyses home price appreciation, migration trends, and price to rent ratios to determine which markets might be in for some major price corrections.

According to the report, these are the top 10 worst housing bubbles in America:

10. Atlanta, GA – Atlanta’s Real Estate Market has as much as 25% price downside given how expensive home values have become for local workers.

9. Cape Coral, FL – One of the most volatile Housing Markets in America. Cape Coral/Fort Myers is currently in a Housing Bubble but could have another 2007-style Crash given how high prices are relative to rents and long-term trends.

8. Phoenix, AZ – Home Prices in Phoenix today are 50% higher than the previous peak in 2007. Meanwhile, inventory is surging and real estate investors are starting to sell out of the market.

7. Tampa, FL – the home-flipping capital of the US. Tampa has a ton of investor demand that pushes home prices up during Housing Booms and down during Housing Crashes.

6. Charlotte, NC – Charlotte has quickly become one of the America’s biggest Housing Bubbles. A sky-high Price to Rent Ratio indicates that both homebuyers and investors will stop buying.

5. Raleigh, NC – Home Values in Raleigh are nearly 35% high than the long-term trend. Which is problematic for a city where migration is below the previous highs experienced in the mid-2000s.

4. Seattle, WA – Seattle lost the most people it ever has in 2021 according to US Census Bureau data. Now Housing Inventory is climbing rapidly and prices are projected to decline 28%.

3. Salt Lake City, UT – a combination of record-high prices, stagnating wages, and too much home building make Salt Lake City one of America’s biggest Housing Bubbles.

2. Boise, ID – this will be one of the first cities to Crash. Inventory in Boise is up 118% YoY according to Realtor.com and Zillow estimates show values already declining.

1. Austin, TX – America’s Biggest Housing Bubble is without a doubt Austin, TX. Home Values are predicted to Crash by 34% according to the Reventure Consulting Home Price Model.

Data used in the analysis was taken from Zillow (https://www.zillow.com/research/data/) and BLS (https://www.bls.gov/sae/data/).
