This Charlotte Zip Code Was Just Ranked Among The Hottest In America

Charlotte’s 28277 ZIP code has once again been recognized as one of the hottest in the nation, according to Realtor.com’s 2024 list. This area, encompassing neighborhoods like Piper Glen, Raintree, Providence Crossing, and Ballantyne, has climbed to No. 26 on the list, its highest ranking yet.

This marks the third consecutive year 28277 has made the list, improving from No. 42 in 2023 and No. 33 in 2022. Realtor.com’s rankings are based on a combination of market demand and the pace of home sales. In 28277, homes garnered more than double the number of viewers per property compared to the national average, with a median time of 26 days on the market. The median listing price in the area was $661,000.

The rankings highlight areas with high buyer interest and fast-selling homes, indicating limited supply. While the top spots were dominated by Midwest and Northeast markets, 28277 was the only ZIP code from the Carolinas to make the list.

The hottest ZIP code in America this year was 43230 in Gahanna, Ohio, followed by 63021 in Ballwin, Missouri, and 01970 in Salem, Massachusetts. Charlotte has had other ZIP codes on the list in past years, but 28277’s consistent presence underscores its continued appeal in a competitive housing market.

Justice For All Political Party Officially Recognized in North Carolina

0

The State Board of Elections has officially recognized the Justice For All Party as a political party in North Carolina. This decision follows a court order, expanding voters’ options to nine political parties when registering or updating their registration.

With this recognition, voters can now choose to register with the Constitution, Democratic, Green, Justice For All, Libertarian, No Labels, Republican, or We The People parties. They also have the option to register as unaffiliated. Additionally, voters currently registered with another party or as unaffiliated can switch their affiliation to the Justice For All Party.

Justice For All will have presidential candidate Cornel West and vice-presidential candidate Melina Abdullah on the ballot in the 2024 general election. The State Board has updated voter registration applications to include the new party option. Voters with older forms can still register with Justice For All by selecting “Other” and writing in the party’s name.

This development offers voters in North Carolina another choice in the upcoming elections, reflecting the evolving political landscape in the state.

Exploring Affordable Rehab Options

On the other side of the picture are the rehab plans which offer quality care treatment without breaking the bank.

Keep in mind about this option that you won’t get any lavish facilities or surroundings but you will absolutely have essential services needed for effective recovery.

I guess you are in doubt about the affordability plan. If it’s so then don’t think negatively.

The affordability doesn’t mean the compromise on care!

Your medical experts will be certified and trained in their area of speciality to provide you best therapy that caters to your needs.

Comparing Key Features: What Really Matters

So, how do these both approaches stack up against each other? Let’s find together

Accommodation: In luxury rehab, you stay in private suites/ rooms while affordable options provide only shared residence.

Treatment programs: No doubt, both provide evidence-based treatment but the affordable option is devoid of specialized therapies and extra care services.

Staff to patient ratio: If you want personalized care, you can opt for luxury rehabs because they have lower staff to patient ratio in comparison to affordable rehabs with larger groups but effective in care.

Cost Breakdown

What do you get for your money?

There is a significant difference in costs of both treatments. The luxury centers can range anywhere from $20,000 to 1,00,000 per month – a cost of fortune!

While the affordable plans are cheaper, and might range from $5,000 to $20,000 per month depending on care, amenities and your duration of treatment.

Well, it all depends on what you value most- comfort and luxury or practicality and affordability.

Tips for Organizing Your Holiday Decor in Your Garage

0

When the holiday season ends, it’s easy to find yourself simply stuffing your decorations back into boxes and shoving them into your garage until next year. But the truth is, the way you store your holiday decor can make a huge difference in how long your decorations last and how easy it is to find what you need when the next festive season rolls around. So, how can you ensure that your holiday decor is stored in a way that’s both organized and accessible?

Why Organizing Your Holiday Decor Matters

The Benefits of a Well-Organized Garage

It’s easy to underestimate the importance of a well-organized garage. After all, it’s just a storage space, right? Wrong. A clutter-free, organized garage does more than just look good—it saves you time, money, and stress. Think about how many times you’ve had to sift through boxes, pulling out tangled lights and broken ornaments, just to find that one specific decoration you wanted. Organizing your holiday decor can help you avoid this frustration and ensure that everything is easy to find, intact, and ready to use.

Protecting Your Investment

Holiday decorations aren’t cheap. From elaborate light displays to delicate ornaments, you likely have a significant investment wrapped up in your seasonal decor. Proper organization and storage can protect your investment by preventing damage caused by poor packing, exposure to elements, or being crushed under other items. By taking the time to store everything properly, you’re extending the life of your decorations, which ultimately saves you money in the long run.

Step-by-Step Guide to Organizing Your Holiday Decor

1. Sort Before You Store

Before you start packing everything away, it’s important to take stock of what you have. Start by sorting through all of your holiday decorations and deciding what you want to keep, donate, or toss. If something is broken beyond repair or no longer sparks joy, now is the perfect time to let it go. Not only does this free up space, but it also ensures that the items you do keep are ones that you actually use and love.

Pro Tip: Create three distinct piles—keep, donate, and toss. This makes the sorting process quicker and more efficient.

2. Invest in Quality Storage Containers

Now that you’ve sorted your decorations, it’s time to think about storage. Investing in sturdy, stackable storage containers is essential for keeping your decor safe and organized. Clear plastic bins are ideal because they allow you to see what’s inside without having to open each one. Plus, they’re more durable than cardboard boxes and offer better protection against moisture, dust, and pests.

Label each bin clearly with its contents, such as “Christmas Ornaments,” “Halloween Decor,” or “Outdoor Lights.” This way, you’ll know exactly where everything is when you need it.

3. Use Dividers for Fragile Items

Fragile decorations, like glass ornaments and delicate figurines, need extra care when being stored. Use dividers or individual compartments within your storage bins to keep these items from knocking against each other and breaking. You can purchase specialized ornament storage containers, or simply use cardboard dividers, tissue paper, or bubble wrap to create your own.

Pro Tip: Save money by repurposing cardboard from old boxes or using egg cartons to store small, fragile ornaments.

4. Wrap Lights and Garlands Properly

Tangled lights and garlands are the bane of holiday decorating. But with a little foresight, you can avoid this headache altogether. Wrap your holiday lights and garlands around a piece of cardboard, a plastic spool, or even a clothes hanger to keep them from tangling. Once wrapped, store them in a dedicated bin labeled “Holiday Lights” to keep everything together.

Pro Tip: For an added level of organization, label each strand of lights with its length or the area it’s meant to decorate, such as “Living Room Window” or “Front Yard.”

5. Store Wreaths and Bows Safely

Wreaths and bows can easily get crushed if not stored correctly. Instead of stacking them in a box, consider hanging wreaths on a wall or from a sturdy hook in your garage. You can also use a garment bag or wreath storage bag to keep them clean and dust-free. For bows, consider using a compartmentalized box or a drawer to prevent them from getting flattened.

6. Create a Designated Holiday Storage Area

If possible, designate a specific area in your garage solely for holiday decor. This can be a set of shelves, a corner of the garage, or even overhead storage racks. By keeping all your holiday decorations together in one place, you’ll always know where to find them, and you won’t have to worry about them getting mixed up with other items.

7. Maximize Vertical Space

Garages are often tight on space, especially if you’re also storing cars, tools, and other household items. To make the most of the space you have, think vertically. Use wall-mounted shelves, hooks, and overhead storage racks to keep your holiday decor off the floor and out of the way. This not only frees up valuable floor space but also makes it easier to access your decorations when you need them.

8. Consider Climate Control

If you live in an area with extreme temperatures or high humidity, you might want to consider climate-controlled storage options for your more delicate holiday items. Extreme heat, cold, or moisture can damage decorations, causing them to warp, fade, or even mold. If climate-controlled storage in your garage isn’t an option, consider using a dehumidifier or moisture-absorbing packets in your storage bins to help protect your items.

9. Keep an Inventory List

When your holiday decor is packed away in boxes, it can be easy to forget what you have. Create an inventory list of your decorations, including a brief description of each item and where it’s stored. This can be a simple handwritten list, a spreadsheet, or even a digital document that you can update as needed. Having an inventory helps you avoid buying duplicate items and ensures you don’t forget about decorations that are tucked away in hard-to-reach spots.

Pro Tip: Tape a copy of your inventory list to the inside of the garage door or the top of each storage bin for quick reference.

10. Make Unpacking Easier

When the holidays roll around again, you’ll thank yourself for making the unpacking process easier. Store your decorations in the order that you’ll need them. For example, keep your outdoor lights and wreaths in the most accessible spot since you’ll likely put those up first. Store ornaments and indoor decorations further back, as they’ll be used later in the decorating process.

Pro Tip: Consider creating a “Holiday Unpacking Checklist” to guide you through the process. This ensures nothing is forgotten and makes decorating more enjoyable.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Create an inventory list of your holiday decorations, including a brief description of each item and where it’s stored. This helps prevent duplicate purchases and ensures you know exactly what you have each season.

Conclusion

Organizing your holiday decor doesn’t have to be a daunting task. By following these tips, you can create a storage system that keeps your decorations safe, accessible, and in great condition year after year. From investing in quality storage containers to maximizing vertical space in your garage, these strategies will save you time and stress when the next holiday season comes around. Remember, the key to a well-organized garage is taking the time now to sort, store, and label your decorations properly. Your future self will thank you!

New 78-Acre Housing Development Planned for Fort Mill

0

Fort Mill is set to see a significant new housing development as Crossroads Development Partners and Pulte Homes have submitted plans for more than 400 residences in the Dobys Bridge Road and Fort Mill Parkway area. The proposed development, spanning over 78 acres, includes a mix of homes, townhomes, and a retirement facility.

This project marks a return to a previously controversial plan, which initially faced delays and a mixed response from the Fort Mill Town Council. The new proposal seeks approval from the town planning commission instead of the town council, which had previously approved and extended the project but ultimately denied further extensions last November.

The new Fort Mill development is designed as a “whole-life planned community,” with up to 180 age-restricted senior housing units, 110 homes, 110 townhomes, and 40 assisted living apartments. The plan also involves rezoning the properties from Planned Neighborhood Development (PND) to Mixed-Use (MXU) to align with the town’s updated 2040 Comprehensive Plan.

The town of Fort Mill’s planning commission has voiced several concerns about the project, including; sidewalks, parking, rear garages, amenity areas, and compliance with town regulations. The project could see additional involvement from the town council if the county property required for access to Williams Road needs to be annexed.

The new development aims to appeal to both younger families and seniors, adding to Fort Mill’s growing residential landscape. However, traffic concerns and planning issues continue to be a focus if the project moves forward.

What do you think about the new development?

In a press release, the Cape Hatteras National Park issued a press release, saying:

“Following the collapse of an unoccupied beach house this evening, Cape Hatteras National Seashore (Seashore) and the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge strongly urges all visitors to avoid the beaches and stay out of the water around all areas of the beaches and surf in Rodanthe. Additionally, all public entry from the northern boundary of Rodanthe up to the northern end of the Jug Handle Bridge is closed. Many other homes appear to have sustained damages in the Rodanthe area. Dangerous debris may be present on the beach and in the water for more than a dozen miles.”

This incident marks the seventh house collapse on Cape Hatteras National Seashore beaches in the past four years. Officials from Cape Hatteras National Seashore and Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge are urging visitors to avoid the beaches around Rodanthe due to ongoing safety concerns.

As coastal erosion continues to impact the area, residents and visitors are reminded to exercise caution near vulnerable beachfront properties. The recent collapse at 23214 Corbina Drive highlights the growing challenges facing communities along North Carolina’s coastline.

Charlotte About To Witness A Rare ‘Blue Supermoon’ This Week

0

August’s blue supermoon, the first of 2024’s four consecutive supermoons, will illuminate Charlotte’s skies starting tonight.

The full moon, which reached peak brightness on Monday, August 19, will appear full through Wednesday, offering a rare celestial show, according to NASA.

This marks the start of a series of lunar events, with September’s supermoon coinciding with a partial lunar eclipse. October’s supermoon will bring the moon closest to Earth this year, followed by the final supermoon in November.

A supermoon occurs when the full moon aligns with its closest orbit around Earth, making it appear slightly larger and up to 30% brighter. While the size difference is subtle, the increased brightness is more noticeable.

As lunar exploration intensifies, with missions like NASA’s Artemis program, this series of supermoons adds to the growing excitement about our closest celestial neighbor.

Charlotte’s Nucor Steel Building New $20 Million Rebar Factory in Davidson County

0

rebar factoryCharlotte-based Nucor Steel recently announced plans to build a new $20 million rebar factory in Davidson County.

This new facility will be adjacent to Nucor’s steel rebar micro mill in Lexington, about 30 miles northeast of Charlotte.

The average annual wage for jobs at the new plant will be $65,000, surpassing the county’s average wage of $51,201. The facility’s new jobs could generate an annual payroll impact of more than $1.6 million for the region.

“It’s great when a home grown company chooses to expand in North Carolina, especially when it’s the largest steelmaker in America,” said Governor Cooper in a press release. “Nucor’s decision illustrates its confidence in our state’s workforce, transportation infrastructure, and supportive business environment that makes North Carolina the best state to do business.”

A $50,000 performance-based grant from the One North Carolina Fund will support Nucor’s new rebar factory. The OneNC Fund aids local governments in attracting economic investment and creating jobs. Companies receive no upfront money and must meet job creation and capital investment targets to qualify for payment. Local governments must match the grant for it to be awarded.
