Top 5 Field Service Software Features That Matter Most, Backed by Research

0

We summarized 5 top field service software must-haves.

Picking the best field service software can be a daunting—and often overwhelming—task. And with a number of solutions on the market, it can be difficult to identify the technology that will work best for your independent field service business or list your techs’ daily schedules. While there are many features that can help dispatchers or technicians with day-to-day tasks, other software capabilities are too important to ignore.

In this article, we will cover the most important field service software features based on insights pulled from Gartner’s recent research, allowing you to make a smart, informed decision on how to optimize your service delivery. Whether you’re evaluating a replacement or considering field service software for the first time, these features will help you think through the technology you need to select.

1. Work Order Management

Gartner’s research shows that 92% of field service software buyers request work order management as a feature; but only 16% of users rate it as critical. Work automation reduces manual dependency which helps businesses to reduce errors and delays. Efficient work order management helps enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction by providing technicians with access to the latest jobs schedule.

According to Gartner, 54% of organizations buy field service software due to the inefficiency in their process, which makes it a must-have feature to increase productivity and reduce costs.

2. Scheduling and Dispatch

Scheduling and dispatch are vital components of field service businesses that customers expect to be available. Gartner’s study reflects that 87% of the buyers require this feature, yet only 35% of field service software users think of it as vitally significant. But still, it is the most highly rated feature according to the customer.

Accurate scheduling ensures that technicians are deployed with a real understanding of their skills and areas of expertise, location, and availability. Effective dispatch makes the field service business operate more effectively and boosts customer satisfaction by decreasing wait times. Field service software helps automate the process among different teams with real-time performance monitoring. It also has route management by real-time tracking and planning, helping technicians ensure timely task completion, which further helps businesses get more jobs done and increase revenue.

3. Contact Management

Managing your business’s contacts is a must-have for field service teams. 80% of field service management software buyers request contact management, but only 18% of users rate the feature as critical. A central repository of customer information allows technicians to easily reference job history and preferences to deliver personalized customer experiences faster.

This empowers technicians to better understand and anticipate customer needs and more efficiently solve problems. Up-to-date contact management is beneficial for companies to manage operational efficiency, eliminate service delays, and increase customer satisfaction, which is vital for business longevity.

4. Billing and Invoicing

Billing and invoicing are common pain points for implementations of field service software. 66% of buyers say billing and invoicing are critical, while only 23% of users flagged this as their must-have feature. Automating invoicing ensures that your business gets paid accurately and, more importantly, on time, which helps businesses streamline cash flow processes and eliminate additional administrative overhead.

Automation also reduces the risk of human error; businesses will invoice for the appropriate amount of completed work. This is especially important to companies that have multiple customers with specialized service agreements. Invoicing capabilities in field service software help your accounting team keep finance operations running smoothly and allow teams to deliver services faster and easier while having more control over business finances.

5. Inventory Management

Inventory management is most relevant to HVAC, plumbing, and electrical service providers, yet only 8% of users have requested the capability. Meanwhile, Gartner reports 60% of businesses leverage third-party software to manage inventory, much of which is not specific to their field service operations.

Building inventory management features into field service software lets field staff see stock levels, place orders, and update stock usage from the field. This helps reduce manual data entry, and ensures companies have the necessary supplies to prevent service delays. Enhanced inventory management reduces waste and accelerates delivery time, meaning companies can ensure they always have the right install part at the right time.

Improve Your Field Service Operations

Unsurprisingly, the integration of each of these desired functionalities vastly improves the overall business. According to the Gartner report, inefficiency is the main push factor for businesses to switch to field service software. By doing so, businesses can expect to improve their field operations, and have a direct positive impact on customer satisfaction and profitability.

How to Assess the Quality of Health Supplements Online

0

The rise of online shopping has revolutionized how we buy products, and health supplements are no exception. However, choosing the brand or product without affecting the quality and your daily food objective is what matters. And to achieve this, accessing the quality of health supplements is crucial. This article walks you through the steps of how to avoid unsafe products before you buy nutritional supplements online.

Look for Third-Party Testing

One of the easiest ways to determine the quality of a health supplement is by checking if it has undergone third-party testing. Most of the time, self-examination favors the selling party, so third-party testing ensures that the product has encountered a valid verification for its potency, purity and safety. Certifications like NSF International, USP (United States Pharmacopeia) or Informed-Choice assure the product is free from all harmful ingredients.

Prefer the products that are open to displaying these certifications on packaging or websites as they show their valuable reputation and guaranteed items.

Check the Ingredient List

Understanding the ingredient list is crucial when evaluating any health supplement. A high-quality product will use clean, recognizable ingredients with minimal fillers or artificial additives.

  • Avoid Unnecessary Additives: Look out for artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives that add no nutritional value.
  • Watch for Allergens: Make sure the product is free from allergens or ingredients you’re sensitive to, such as gluten, soy, or dairy.
  • Look for Active Ingredients: Ensure the product contains therapeutic doses of active ingredients that align with your health goals.

A transparent ingredient list is a hallmark of a reputable supplement brand.

Research the Brand’s Reputation

Conducting thorough research on the brand behind the product enables trust factor. Before purchasing, take a moment to learn more about the company, whether it understands the origin area, ingredients involved in the process or even the pricing structure that makes a meaningful difference.

Check the company’s website for information about its manufacturing processes, sourcing practices, and commitment to quality control. Customer reviews and testimonials are not just promotional tools but showcase their effectiveness.

Examine the Packaging

Packaging might not seem important, but it provides valuable clues about a supplement’s quality.

  • Clear Labeling: A good supplement will clearly list ingredients, dosage instructions, and nutritional information on the label.
  • Expiration Date: Always check the expiration date to ensure the product is fresh and effective.
  • Tamper-Evident Seals: Packaging with tamper-proof seals adds an extra layer of security and assurance.

High-quality packaging reflects the brand’s commitment to delivering safe and effective products.

Review Clinical Evidence

Reputable supplement companies often base their formulations on clinical research. When evaluating a product, look for scientific evidence supporting its claims.

  • Cite Studies: Many brands reference clinical trials or studies on their websites to validate their product’s benefits.
  • Consult Reputable Sources: Cross-check these claims with trusted health organizations or peer-reviewed journals.
  • Beware of Overhyped Claims: Avoid supplements that promise unrealistic results, such as instant weight loss or overnight energy boosts.

Scientific backing separates effective supplements from marketing gimmicks.

Compare Prices with Value

Price is often an indicator of quality, but balancing affordability with value is essential. While high-quality supplements may cost more, they often deliver better results and fewer side effects.

  • Avoid Cheap Alternatives: Products with unusually low prices may cut corners on ingredient quality or manufacturing standards.
  • Look for Discounts: Many reputable online retailers offer discounts for bulk purchases or subscriptions, helping you save without compromising quality.
  • Evaluate Cost Per Serving: Instead of focusing solely on the total price, consider how much you’re paying per serving for a clearer sense of value.

A well-priced supplement should align with its ingredients and benefits.

Choose Trusted Retailers

Where you purchase your supplements is just as important as the product itself. Reputable online platforms and official brand websites are your safest options.

Trusted retailers often provide detailed product descriptions, transparent ingredient lists, and access to customer reviews. They also have clear return policies, ensuring a positive shopping experience. Avoid unfamiliar or poorly rated platforms to minimize the risk of counterfeit or substandard products.

Consistency Matters

Once you’ve selected a supplement, consistency is key to seeing results. Even the best-quality products won’t work if they’re not taken regularly as directed. Incorporate supplements into your daily routine by setting reminders or placing them in a visible location to ensure you don’t miss a dose.

Final Thoughts

Assessing the quality of health supplements online requires a careful and informed approach. You can make confident choices by prioritizing third-party testing, understanding ingredient lists, researching brands, and evaluating packaging. Pair this with checking clinical evidence, comparing prices, and shopping on trusted platforms, and you’ll be well-equipped to select supplements that truly benefit your health.

With the right knowledge and tools, you can build a supplement routine that supports your wellness journey and delivers the results you’re looking for.

Massive Wildfires in WNC Force Evacuations Around Bat Cave and Old Fort

A massive wildfire in Western North Carolina has now forced the evacuation of residents around Bat Cave and Old Fort.

The evacuation order affected all private drives off the following roads:

  • 3000-4500 block of Bat Cave Road
  • Pine Cove Road
  • Cherry Springs Road
  • Roy Moore Road
  • Julia Drive
  • 1000 block of Lavender Road
  • Cozy Cove Drive

According to McDowell County Emergency Management, the fires were initially ignited after a tree fell on a power line near the 3000 block of Bat Cave Road.

Firefighters worked overnight to contain the fire, which had spread to approximately 250 acres by Thursday morning. Emergency officials confirmed that the fire was 55% contained as of 6:55 a.m. today. The evacuation order will be lifted at 8 a.m., allowing residents to return home.

Although no injuries or fatalities have been reported, one home sustained damage, and multiple outbuildings were destroyed. The area, already impacted by Hurricane Helene months ago, faced additional challenges due to dry conditions fueling the fire’s spread.

New Lake Norman Power Plant Now The Most Powerful In The World

0

Duke Energy’s new Lincoln Combustion Turbine Station, powered by a massive Siemens Energy’s SGT6-9000HL (60Hz) turbine, has just been certified with the official Guinness World Records title for the “most powerful simple-cycle gas power plant” in the world with a total power output of 410.9 megawatts.

The Lincoln Combustion Turbine Station is located near Denver, NC, about 25 miles north of Charlotte and can generate enough energy to power more than 300,000 homes.

Siemens Energy’s SGT6-9000HL is designed to run longer between maintenance cycles and will be the most efficient of its type in Duke Energy’s fleet (about 34% more efficient than the existing combustion turbines at the Lincoln site).

“Power output, efficiency and operational flexibility are crucial elements for the decarbonization of the energy sector,” says Karim Amin, executive board member at Siemens Energy. “This title demonstrates our capability as a technology leader working together with Duke Energy to accelerate the path towards net-zero emissions.”

Duke Energy is pursuing an aggressive clean energy transition, already achieving more than 40% carbon reduction since 2005,” said Kevin Murray, vice president of Project Management & Construction at Duke Energy. “The new gas turbine at our Lincoln site will become the most fuel-efficient gas turbine in our fleet. The unit’s fast start and high ramp rate capability will support the increase in renewables we are placing on our system while complementing our journey to net-zero carbon from electricity generation by 2050.”

The power output of the unit is complemented by its agility. When renewables like solar or wind fluctuate, power from the HL-class turbine can quickly be added to the grid to meet market demands and help stabilize the power supply. It is the first 60Hz HL-class turbine from Siemens Energy.

North Carolina-based Boom Supersonic has successfully conducted a supersonic test flight, reinforcing the state’s reputation as “First in Flight.” On Tuesday, the company’s XB-1 aircraft became the first privately funded airplane to break the sound barrier.

Flying at approximately 35,000 feet (10,670 meters) over the Mojave Desert, the pilot accelerated the XB-1 to Mach 1.1, or about 845 mph (1,360 kph), shattering the speed of sound.

Boom Supersonic’s Overture is designed to carry 64-80 passengers across the Atlantic in approximately 3.5 hours. The company has already secured 130 orders and pre-orders from major airlines, including American Airlines, United Airlines, and Japan Airlines.

Last year, Boom Supersonic completed construction of its Overture Superfactory in Greensboro, North Carolina, where it plans to build 66 Overture aircraft annually. This advancement brings supersonic commercial travel closer to reality.
