Just 1 day after former starting QB Cam Newton was placed on injured reserve, our new starting QB Kyle Allen was placed on Wednesday’s injury report.

According to the report, Allen injured his right throwing shoulder, but still fully participated in practice (DNP means ‘Did not participate in practice’ and FP means ‘Full participation’);

Although there has been no official statement by the Panthers as to the severity of Allen’s injury, the fact that he fully participated in practice is a positive sign that the injury may be minor.

This past week, Allen completed 17 of 32 throws for a total of 232 passing yards, including 2 touchdowns and 1 interception.

If Allen is healthy enough to start this weekend, he’ll lead the 5-3 Panthers against the 7-2 Packers on their home turf at at Lambeau Field.
