Panthers Lose Again In Rookie QB Young’s Rollercoaster Night Against the Saints

In a tight defensive match, the Carolina Panthers tasted defeat against the New Orleans Saints, marking their second consecutive loss this season.

While the Saints managed to restrain Bryce Young, the 2023 No.1 draft pick, throughout the match, Carolina nearly caught up with a score of 20-17, but ultimately couldn’t seal the win.

On the brighter side, the Panthers’ defense was robust. Frankie Luvu delivered two sacks, Vonn Bell showcased a stellar interception, and Saints QB Derek Carr felt the heat consistently. However, the offense struggled to find its rhythm. The Panthers could only muster 239 yards with just a touchdown when the game was nearly over.

Rookie QB Bryce Young had a challenging day, with a 22-of-33 pass for 153 yards. While he did connect with Adam Thielen for a late-game touchdown and two-point conversion, deeper throws eluded him. To add to the woes, an injury cloud looms large over linebacker Shaq Thompson, who was carted off the field after an ankle injury.

Despite the setbacks, Kicker Eddy Piñeiro stood out, nailing two impressive 50+ yard field goals, continuing his streak of 23 straight successful attempts for the Panthers.

The team now faces some crucial decisions, especially concerning short-yardage situations which have been a persistent challenge over the past two games.
