The Panther’s new no. 1 draft pick QB Bryce Young had a shaky start in the first game of our new season, as the Carolina Panthers lost 24-10 to the Atlanta Falcons yesterday.

Young threw two interceptions but managed only one touchdown. The Falcons secured the win with Tyle Allgeir’s two rushing touchdowns.

The Falcons scored first with an 11-yard touchdown reception by Bijan Robinson. Carolina tied the game with a short touchdown pass to Hayden Hurst, then pulled ahead in the 2nd with a field goal.

An interception quickly halted their momentum and the Falcons tied up the game with their own field goal in the 3rd quarter. A fumble by Miles Sanders then led to another Falcons touchdown, making it 17-10. The Falcons sealed the game with another rushing touchdown by Allgeir. Young finished with one touchdown and two interceptions in his NFL debut.

Carolina’s defense put up a fight, but turnovers and poor field position hindered them.

The Panthers will now face the New Orleans Saints in their home opener on Monday, Sept. 18.
