North Carolina Troops Are Being Deployed To The Middle East Amid Growing Israel-Hamas War

US defense officials have just announced that several units from North Carolina’s Fort Liberty (formerly Fort Bragg) are being deployed to the Middle East amid the amid the growing Israel-Hamas war.

The 18th Airborne Corps at Fort Liberty released a statement saying:

“We can confirm we have soldiers deploying within the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility from Fort Liberty. Due to operational security, no further details are available. Our units are trained and ready to support global response at any time.”

There have been 13 reported attacks against U.S. troops and military installations in Iraq and Syria. The Pentagon attributes these attacks to Iranian endorsement, noting Iran’s support for various militant groups in the region.

According to the Health Ministry in Gaza, 5,791 Palestinians have been killed and 16,297 injured in the ongoing conflict. Meanwhile, in the West Bank, there have been reports of 96 Palestinian deaths and 1,650 injuries since October 7.

The USS Dwight D. Eisenhower carrier strike group has also been deployed from Norfolk, Virginia, to the Centcom area, as well as numerous patriot missile battalions from Fort Liberty and Fort Still, Oklahoma. Various military units around the country have received prepare-to-deploy orders from the Department of Defense
