CMPD has just issued a warning to all Hispanic residents in our city to be extra vigilant after a string of robberies was found to have specifically targeted those in the Hispanic community.
Their official statement reads, “CMPD is investigating recent robberies targeting Hispanic victims. Since April 1, there have been at least 11 incidents spanning several divisions including Eastway, Hickory Grove, Independence & North.”
On Twitter they urge residents to “Try to park in well-lit areas & avoid congregating in parking lots, especially late at night. Avoid carrying large amounts of cash and be aware of your surroundings. If you see anything suspicious, say something and call 9-1-1.”
