North Carolina Named Among Top 10 States For Aspiring Influencers

0

With influencer marketing set to become an even more integral part of companies’ business strategies, new data has named the states where people are most interested in becoming online social influencers.

The report by the Influencer Marketing Hub analyzed nationwide Google search searches for keywords related to becoming an influencer over the last 12 months, to identify which states are chasing a content creator career path the most.

Unsurprisingly, many are considering the career path, given that the industry doesn’t seem to be slowing down in growth anytime soon, and is expected to be worth a whopping $22.2bn by the end of 2024.

The report found that nearly a quarter (24.2%) of respondents intend to spend more than 40% of their marketing budget on influencer marketing in 2024. This is a significant increase from 2023’s 23% and 2022’s 5% spend, so it’s little wonder it remains an attractive career prospect.

It turns out those in North Carolina have this down as an ambition the tenth most out of everywhere in the US. The state averaged 61.8 monthly searches per 100,000 residents, which is 16% higher than the US average of 53.5 searches per 100,000 people.

Florida takes the lead as the state with the highest interest in living the influencer lifestyle, with 79.8 searches per 100,000 residents – 49% higher than the national average.

Close behind is Georgia, which is 46% above the national average, at 78.2 searches per 100,000 people. New York is third at 75.9 searches per 100,000 – still 42% higher.

The ten states most interested in becoming an influencer

State Average Monthly Search Volume Per 100k
Florida 79.8
Georgia 78.2
New York 75.9
Utah 72.1
Nevada 71.0
New Jersey 70.3
Delaware 66.7
California 64.9
Texas 63.1
North Carolina 61.8

Charlotte 49ers Make History With Record Win Streak

0

The UNC Charlotte 49er’s men’s basketball team just made history by securing an eighth consecutive conference game victory in front of a sold-out crowd this past weekend (their first sell-out since 2013).

The game began with a tight first half, with the 49ers narrowly leading 26-24 at the break. Charlotte then came back strong in the second half, outscoring East Carolina University 41-28, making history and maintaining their lead in the conference standings.

“Extremely proud of our guys,” said Charlotte Head Coach Aaron Fearne in a press release. “I want our players, students, and the community to have an unbelievable experience.”

Their victory over East Carolina University now ranks them nationally, tying for the 7th-longest active winning streak in the country.

The 49ers now face off against South Florida this week as they set their sites on a national championship.

NC Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Retirement Benefits for CMS Police Officers

0

In a landmark decision on Tuesday, the North Carolina Supreme Court ruled Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) will now be required to provide retirement benefits to their retired police officers, overturning a 2021 lower court verdict.

CMS argued it didn’t meet the state’s criteria for a political subdivision required to dispense these benefits – that the officers were ineligible as they were not participants in the Local Government Employees Retirement System (LGERS).

The 2021 ruling in the appellate court sided with CMS, but the state’s highest court this week refuted that decision, saying all school districts are indeed recognized as political subdivisions under state law, and that eligibility for retirement benefits extends beyond those enrolled in LGERS.

NBA Lamelo Ball picks and predictions

0

LaMelo Ball stands as someone with huge potential for the Charlotte Hornets. His journey from a prodigious talent in his early career to becoming a pivotal figure on the big stage for the Hornets encapsulates a narrative of growth, skill, and unyielded potential.

LaMelo Ball’s ascent to the NBA was marked by anticipation and high expectations. His early career, characterized by overseas play and a notable presence in the high school basketball scene, set the stage for what was to become a highly scrutinized entrance into the NBA. Chosen as the third overall pick by the Charlotte Hornets, Ball’s transition to the professional stage was eagerly awaited by fans and analysts alike.

Impactful Performance for the Hornets

Upon his arrival at the Hornets, Ball quickly demonstrated why he was held in such high regard. His ability to impact the game across multiple facets—scoring, passing, and rebounding—established him as a cornerstone for the franchise’s future.

Notably, Ball’s performance against the Dallas Mavericks, where he exploded for 23 points in the fourth quarter alone, finishing with a 30-point triple-double, underscored his crucial role in the team’s dynamics.

The feat not only marked his tenth career triple-double, setting a franchise record but also distinguished him as the first Hornets player to achieve a 30-point triple-double in regulation, showcasing his unique talent and contribution to the team.

Moreover, betting fans can bet on him by using North Carolina sports betting after their launch on 11th March. These apps are expected to incorporate various betting options for NBA fans.

Standout Moments and Recognition

Ball’s knack for elevating his game when the team needs it the most was further exemplified in a thrilling overtime victory against the Boston Celtics. Scoring 36 points, along with nine rebounds and eight assists, Ball’s ability to clinch crucial points and assists in critical moments of the game highlighted his growing influence and reliability as a leader on the court.

His performance not only contributed significantly to the team’s success but also showcased his evolving game intelligence and situational awareness.

Future Prospects and Predictions

Looking ahead, Ball’s trajectory within the NBA appears promising due to his talents but also hinges significantly on the development plans laid out by the Charlotte Hornets. The Hornets’ coaching staff is actively focused on Ball’s development, underscoring their commitment to honing his skills and addressing areas of improvement that could elevate his game to new heights. While specific strategies were not disclosed, the emphasis on development suggests a tailored approach to leveraging Ball’s strengths and mitigating weaknesses, particularly in areas like defensive play and decision-making.

Moreover, Ball’s standing among his peers and within the league’s ecosystem provides further context to his future predictions. While not listed as an All-Star starter or reserve for the 2024 season, his mention among snubs indicates recognition of his talent and contribution to the Hornets. This recognition, albeit indirect, underscores the competitive nature of the league and the high benchmarks set by contemporaries.

Ball’s comparison to players who have made significant impacts on their teams reveals the narrow margins for accolades like All-Star selections, yet also highlights the potential within Ball to reach these benchmarks with continued growth and performance.

The narrative around Ball’s future in the NBA remains optimistic, buoyed by his existing accomplishments and the potential for growth. As the Hornets continue to invest in his development, and as Ball himself responds to the challenges and opportunities of the league, his path forward appears laden with possibilities.

The expectations for Ball to transition from a star to a superstar are not unfounded but require a concerted effort from both the player and the organization to actualize the potential his early career has suggested.

Conclusion

LaMelo Ball’s journey in the NBA, marked by record-setting performances and a clear impact on the Charlotte Hornets’ successes, paints a picture of a player with exceptional talent and potential. As he continues to refine his skills and address areas of improvement, the future holds promising prospects for Ball and the Hornets. His ability to lead by example, combined with his statistical contributions, positions him as a central figure in the team’s aspirations for competitiveness and success in the league. The anticipation surrounding his career trajectory and impact on the game remains high as fans and analysts alike watch closely to see how this talented player will shape the future of basketball in Charlotte and beyond.

This morning at 6:30am, another earthquake struck the small area of Elgin, SC, located between Charlotte and Columbia, bringing the total to 91 quakes around the small town over the past 2 years.

According to the USGS, the quake had a magnitude of 1.7 and a depth of 1.7 km.

The Alzheimer’s Association – Western Carolina Chapter announced that its 2023 Walk to End Alzheimer’s® – Charlotte has been ranked No. 18 in the nation out of the Alzheimer’s Association’s 2023 Top 30 Walks.

The Charlotte fundraiser earned a spot among this ranking for the first time in 2016 becoming increasingly more successful since then. Participants in the 2023 Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Charlotte raised an incredible $861,256 to fund Alzheimer’s care, support and research programs, surpassing its $850,000 goal.

“Congratulations to all involved in our Charlotte Walk for their hard work and support in making this a nationally ranked event,” said Katherine L. Lambert, CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association – Western Carolina Chapter. “We appreciate our Walk participants, volunteers, sponsors, staff and the greater Charlotte community for going above and beyond to make this event a huge success and to raise critical funds for Alzheimer’s research and local support services for the 180,000 North Carolinians living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers.”

Rankings are earned by overall event revenue, and include walks from over 600 communities nationwide. In 2023, nearly 355,000 people participated in more than 600 Walks across the country, raising $100 million — a record amount for any single year since the inception of the world’s largest event to fight the disease.

“These vital funds enable the Association to deliver 24/7 care and support, advocate fearlessly for people facing the disease and fuel groundbreaking research across the globe,” said Coulter Warlick, volunteer chair of the Executive Leadership Team for Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Charlotte.  “And this is only the beginning. With the current advances in treatment, our work is more important than ever. We won’t rest until everyone living with the disease — at any stage — can get the treatment, care and support they need and deserve.”

In addition to the top ranking of the Charlotte event, several local teams and individuals earned national rankings. Among the Top 50 Walk Teams nationwide was The Sharon at SouthPark at No. 8 raising $133,000. Charlotte Adds 2.6 Million Square Feet to Office Market in 3.3% Stock Increase

0

In the dynamic landscape of urban development, Charlotte emerges as a noteworthy player in the realm of office construction within the United States.

CommercialCafe’s latest report, leveraging data from CommercialEdge as of January 12, 2024, sheds light on the state of the office pipeline, with a special focus on the largest office properties slated for completion in 2024.

Here are some key takeaways:

  • Charlotte ranks 8th for the percentage of new office constructions within its stock in 2024. Roughly 3.3% of Charlotte’s current stock is made of new office developments.
  • This percentage translates into 2.6 million square feet of new office space under construction in Q1 of 2024.
  • Charlotte claims one of 2024’s top 20 largest office development projects currently under construction: the 800,000-square-foot 1030 Centene Court property owned by Centene Corporation, ranked 10th. The project is estimated to be completed in the first quarter of 2024.
  • At a regional level, there are a total of 3 projects from the Southern region among the top 20 largest office deliveries of 2024. Besides North Carolina’s entry, there are Miami’s 830 Brickell and Baltimore’s Harbor Point – Parcel 3 properties.

Overall, early in 2024, roughly 97 million square feet of office space is currently in various stages of development at the national level — a 28% drop compared to last year’s total. However, the market is looking to circumvent this reduction in demand by converting unoccupied office spaces to other uses, especially living spaces, as reported by RentCafe.
