York County is about to open it’s newest park on the banks of Lake Wylie.
The new 60-acre Thistle Park is located near Lake Wylie’s old Five Points intersection, near the intersection of Lake Wylie Rd. and Hand Mills Highway.
The new park will feature a full disc golf course, picnic shelters, fishing areas, a 3-acre dog park, and over 3 miles of hiking trails.
While specific construction and opening timelines are pending, local leaders speculate it could open sometime in 2025.
