Charlotte might soon get her first Whataburger.
According to WSOC-TV, the legendary Texas-based fast food chain filed documents with Mecklenburg County to open their newest location in the Clear Creek Crossing development off Albemarle Road.
Whataburger‘s journey began in 1950 in Corpus Christi, Texas. From its humble beginnings, the chain has blossomed into a household name, with its headquarters now located in the bustling city of San Antonio. Over the decades, Whataburger has stamped its presence with over 900 outlets spread across Texas, Missouri, Kansas, and several regions in the Southeast and Southwest. For those in Charlotte who’ve developed a craving from hearing tales of Whataburger’s delectable offerings, the closest outlets, until now, have been in the vicinity of Atlanta and Nashville.
The exact timeline for the new Charlotte location is still up in the air.
