Voting season officially kicked off this past weekend in North Carolina, as the first batch of absentee ballots were mailed out to nearly 53,000 NC voters for the 2022 midterm elections.
The official election day less than 60 days away (Nov. 8th), North Carolina absentee voters will now have the ability to vote for 1 US Senate Seat, 14 US House seats, 2 NC Supreme Court seats, 4 NC Court of Appeals seats, 170 NC General Assembly sets, and numerous other local positions across the state.
Official sample ballots for all races are now available through the State Board’s Voter Search tool here.
“We encourage all eligible North Carolinians to register to vote and to make a plan now about when and where they will cast their ballot in 2022,” said State Board of Elections executive director Karen Brinson Bell in a press release. “Your state and county elections officials are here to provide accurate information to help you safely and securely exercise your right to vote. We will make sure your vote counts.”
If you would like to request an absentee ballot, you can do so online at the N.C. Absentee Ballot Portal, or by paper using the English N.C. Absentee Ballot Request Form for 2022 (fillable PDF) or the Spanish N.C. Absentee Ballot Request Form for 2022 (fillable PDF).
To receive an absentee ballot, you must sign the request and provide:
- North Carolina driver’s license number or NCDMV-issued identification card number
- Last four digits of Social Security number.
