This morning traffic was halted on 485 as multiple police agencies engaged in a low-speed police chase in pursuit of a stolen dump truck.
According to Pineville police, the truck was reported stolen from a worksite on Sunday. Officers spotted the vehicle early this morning and attempted to pull over the vehicle. When the truck refused to stop, a police chase ensued along the outer loop of 485.

The chase blocked traffic on a large section of I-485 near the intersection of Providence Road.

The truck eventually took exit 43 toward Mint Hill and continued down route 24 until he stop and ran into a field off Alvin Hough Rd.
A K-9 unit then pursued the suspect into the woods.
