CMPD has just arrested a man after a violent school shooting this week in University City.
The shooting occurred on the campus of Julius Chambers High School after an argument escalated into a violent altercation with one victim being shot. Thankfully, the victim’s injuries are not life-threatening, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
The incident took place on Tuesday, a day when the school was not in session, and no students or young individuals were on the premises.
The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Brent Wall, was promptly apprehended. Wall faces serious charges that include assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, discharging a firearm on educational property, and illegal possession of a firearm on school grounds.

According to Mecklenburg County jail records, Wall is currently in custody with a bond set at $100,000.
