Police have just arrested a man who allegedly robbed and sexually assaulted a woman last week just outside of Uptown Charlotte.
We first reported on the assault last Friday after CMPD sent out a press release asking for help in finding the assailant. According to the release, a sexual assault occurred near the intersection of Freedom Dr. and W. Morehead Dr., just outside 277 early Thursday morning;
The assault victim was immediately rushed to CMC.
Yesterday afternooon, police arrested 19-year-old Robert Anthony Thomas Jr. as the primary suspect in the assault.

According to police, Thomas Jr. is known around the city as a homeless man who frequents the area where the attack occured.
