The Panthers have just used up their only first round draft pick on yet another defensive player (last year, coach Rhule used all of their first 7 draft picks on defensive players).
In the 8th overall pick, they selected 6-foot-1, 205-pound cornerback Jaycee Horn.
In a press release, the Panthers said they chose Horn for his strong ability to go up against the big receivers in the NFL.
“We loved the competitive makeup, the cover ability, and just the person,” general manager Scott Fitterer said. “He brings a lot of energy. I think he’s a really good fit for this team and we’re excited to get him.”
