Suncrest Real Estate is now finalizing plans for a sprawling 336-acre mixed-use development near Crowders Mountain and Kings Pinnacle in Gastonia, set to be one of Gaston County’s largest projects to date.

The new town, code named Derry, is poised to offer around 100,000 square feet of commercial space, over 500 single-family homes, and a diverse range of up to 360 multi-family units. It will feature a massive central pond and at least 2 miles of greenways and trails.

Over the last two decades, Suncrest has been active in land acquisition, securing over 80,000 acres and successfully rezoning hundreds of thousands of residential lots for some of America’s leading homebuilders.

Since entering the Charlotte area in 2019, Gaston County has been a key focus for Suncrest. This new venture, Derry, follows their Nolen Farm project in the same region, which also includes hundreds of residences.

To date, Suncrest has acquired over 1,200 acres in the Charlotte region, securing rights for over 3,000 home lots. They are also gearing up for the development of an additional 2,000 home lots in the next 18 to 36 months.

What are your thoughts on this new development in Gastonia?
