Have you been living in an apartment for a very long time and feel like you need a buddy or a companion? Do you want to get a dog that is suited to apartment living but aren’t sure which breeds to look at?

Who would have thought that dogs are not just for rural living? It turns out, there are a few breeds of canine that are perfect for the urban setting. These breeds are low shedding, hypoallergenic, and compact enough to live even in a small apartment.

Having a dog in an apartment can be tricky because there are a lot of things you need to consider such as size, noise, and more. If you are looking to get a pup for your apartment, here are some of the best ones to look at.

Goldendoodle

First up on our list we have the Goldendoodle. Goldendoodles are a cross between golden retrievers and poodles. Many people think Goldendoodles are one size which is a medium however this is not true.

You can find Goldendoodles which are much smaller, as well as the regular medium size Goldendoodles and even large Goldendoodles. Finding Goldendoodles, especially smaller ones, can be tricky, so you can take a look here-, at ABCs Puppy Zs, which is a premier Goldendoodle breeder if you’re interested. The small Goldendoodles are better suited for apartment living. One of the best things about Goldendoodles is they have hypoallergenic fur which means they don’t shed very often. They are easy to house train and don’t require a lot of maintenance.

Greyhound

Next up on our list, we have the Greyhound. While down and can zoom around very fast they are placid calm dogs which makes them perfect for apartment life.

Greyhounds are all great when it comes to grooming because they have short coats and do not shed a lot. However, you will need to take them up regularly for exercises such as walks or even playing in the park with other dogs to make sure that they are maintaining their health and fitness.

Greyhounds are typically not very loud, and they will be happy to sit at the foot of your desk while you work.

Boston Terrier

Moving on down the list is the Boston terrier. This is an American breed of dog that is also referred to as the American gentleman. They are small and have a short coat which means grooming is not an issue and getting all the exercise they need can be done right from your apartment.

Something to note is that they are great small Watch Dogs but with that said they do make a lot of noise and bark a lot. This may be a problem if you are living in an apartment, but it is nothing some training won’t be able to help.

Chihuahua

The last little dog that we have on our list of dogs that are best suited for apartment living is the things such as toys and food. However, they are devoted and loyal as well as courageous and lively.

Chihuahuas are perfect for living in an apartment because of just how small they are and the fact that they can get all of their daily exercises by running around the apartment. Something to note is that they can be quite loud and they do bark a lot.

This can be easily fixed with consistent training and lots of attention. If you plan on having a Chihuahua especially one with long fur, just be updated regularly so that it does not get mattered uncomfortable
