Carolina Foothills Resort, a private, member-owned nudist resort in Chesnee (about an hour west of Charlotte), is about to host its annual clothing-optional 5K trail run on Saturday, June 14.
The Buck Creek Streak 5K will begin at 8:30 a.m. at 90 Carolina Foothills Drive and includes a professionally chip-timed course through the resort’s scenic trails. Participants receive a specialty race T-shirt, lunch, and a day pass to the resort. Early registration costs $45 through March 31 and increases to $65 for same-day registration, which is limited to returning guests.
The event also features the Mike Ward Challenge, a 7.3K run honoring longtime member Mike Ward, who passed away in 2017. Finishers of the extended race receive special medals, and awards will be given to the top three 5K runners.
All visitors must complete a background check before entering the resort. First-time attendees are required to call the CFR office at 864-461-2731 in advance. Nonrunners must purchase a day pass and can buy meal tickets separately while supplies last.
