Florida-based Artistry Restaurants has just bought out Charlotte’s own Hickory Tavern. The move expands Artistry’s portfolio to 50 managed locations across seven brands, marking its first move into the Carolinas.

Founded in 1997, Hickory Tavern operates 20 locations, with 14 in North Carolina and six in South Carolina. The acquisition highlights Artistry’s growing footprint in the southeastern United States and reflects its commitment to diversifying its offerings.

Paul Zito, a seasoned leader in the hospitality industry, has been named president of Hickory Tavern. Before joining Artistry, Zito led Z Team Consulting, a hospitality consulting firm based in Myrtle Beach, S.C. His leadership is expected to strengthen the brand’s presence and operations under Artistry’s ownership.

The Hickory Tavern acquisition follows Artistry’s recent announcement of The Chapman, an original dining concept set to open later this month in Winter Park, Fla. This addition underscores the company’s momentum in introducing unique experiences alongside its existing brands.

Artistry’s portfolio includes Oak & Stone, Shrimp Basket, Boca, Atlantic Beer & Oyster, and Sandbar Amelia Island, with Hickory Tavern becoming the seventh brand under its management. The acquisition signals Artistry’s continued commitment to growth and innovation in the hospitality sector.
