Costco Issuing Emergency Recall of Cold & Flu Medication Due To “Foreign Material”

Costco is urging customers to check their medicine cabinets as its Kirkland Signature Severe Cold & Flu Plus Congestion caplets have just been recalled during the height of cold and flu season.

According to a press release, “LNK has initiated a recall for the accidental release and shipment of a specific lot code that was rejected due to potential foreign material contamination.”

The affected caplets, which include both day and night formulas, were sold at Costco locations in the Midwest and Southeast between October 30 and November 30, 2024.

Customers can identify the impacted products by looking for item number 1729556 and lot code P140082, found on the side of the medicine boxes.

Customers are advised not to use the caplets and to return them to Costco for a full refund.

This recall comes as the CDC reports a significant rise in flu cases, with over 5 million infections, 63,000 hospitalizations, and 2,700 deaths this season.
