With the start of Wimbledon and the summer days getting people out on the courts, a new report decided to look at which states are the most interested in the game of tennis.
The report utilized four combined data points to develop the ranking of the 50 U.S. states from most to least interested in tennis, implementing Google Trend’s five-year search interest of the term “Tennis,” and “Tennis Courts Near Me,” and then awarded five bonus points for the states that have a Top 25 city for players or courts listed on Global Tennis Network.
North Carolina came in at 6th in the nation (and this didn’t even factor in Charlotte’s new $400 million tennis complex).
