Winner of Food Network’s ‘Cupcake Wars’ Opening A New Bakery in Charlotte

The owners of Fort Mill’s incredibly popular baker, Cupcrazed Cakery have just announced that they will be opening their first Charlotte location in a few months:

Heather McDonnell, the owner, founder, and head baker at Cupcrazed Cakery has already won two Food Network shows, including ‘Cupcake Wars’, and ‘Rewrapped’.

Her new Charlotte bakery will be located across from the Park Rd. Shopping Center at 1730 E. Woodlawn Rd. (in the old Polka Dot Bake Shop location):

The locally famous cupcake shop is best known for their wildly creative takes on traditional desserts:

Happy Thursday!! Today we have peppermint Oreo (pictured), maple bacon, triple raspberry, buckeye, salted caramel, blueberry pie, caramel heath, whatchamacallit, cosmic brownie, strawberry lemonade, red velvet cheesecake and all the regulars-double chocolate, chocolate buttercream, double vanilla, chocolate vanilla, red velvet, and carrot. Lots of cookies, cookie cups, brownies and gingerbread men to choose from!

Marshmallow Rice Krispie Cake! ✨ today we also have snickerdoodle with a cookie on top, blueberry pancake, sour fruit, caramel raspberry streusel, buckeye, caramel bacon, pineapple upside down, white and milk chocolate fudge filled strawberry, black and white kit kat truffle, triple chocolate, red velvet, classic carrot, vanillas and chocolates!

Heather is now planning on opening her new location sometime in March of 2017, about 7 years after opening her first location in Fort Mill’s Baxter Village.
