One of Charlotte’s favorite local Irish tavern and restaurant has just announced that it will be permanently closing its doors.
Fitzgerald’s, located on the corner of East 5th Street and North College Street in Uptown Charlotte’s First Ward, first opened in 2012 as a sports tavern “with an Irish twist”. They feature over 37 TVs and set themselves apart as a hub for Steelers, Penn State, and Auburn fans in Charlotte.
They made the sad announcement on Facebook, saying:
“Its with a very heavy heart that after eight wonderful years, Fitzgerald’s will be permanently closing it’s doors. We thank you for the love, support and memories made. We will always hold a special place in our hearts for all the wonderful people we have met and the remarkable experiences we have had in Uptown Charlotte.
