University City Partners Have Just Announced The First Annual Wine Fest

university-city-wine-festThe University City Partners just announced the first annual Wine Vault University City Wine Fest presented by Greystar and University City Connect. The Wine Fest, a first and only outdoor spring festival in the region, will take place around the lake and boardwalk at the Shoppes at University Place on Saturday, April 22.

“University City is fortunate to celebrate our wine culture by hosting the Wine Vault University City Wine Festival.   The Wine Vault, our local wine shop, has been serving this community for more than 30 years and is generously supporting Wine Fest as the title sponsor,” says Darlene Heater, Executive Director of University City Partners.  “We believe in building a strong community as we build our Ucity, and proceeds from this festival will support our local libraries.”

University City, Charlotte’s second largest employment center and home to more than 160,000 residents, is excited to host the Wine Fest that will attract local and non-local attendees. The event will not only convene the community through entertainment and culture, profits will benefit literacy programming at Charlotte Mecklenburg University City Regional and Sugarcreek Libraries.

“The Wine Vault is excited to bring the University City Wine Fest to our community.  We have shared our wine and our expertisewith this community for many, many years,” said Tim Wallace, Owner of The Wine Vault. “The University City Wine Fest allows the Wine Vault to continue to share our passion for wonderful wine from all over the world, while we give back to our community in such a meaningful way.”

An anticipated 1,500 Wine Fest attendees will experience more than 100 old and new wines from over 25 wineries, while they stroll the boardwalk and enjoy live music and appetizers from area restaurants. Individual tickets and VIP tables are currently available for purchase. General admission includes four hours of unlimited wine tastings and VIP tables include unlimited wine tasting with the addition of seating for 10, one hour of early access to the festival, four bottles of wine and more.
