UNC Charlotte Might Soon Become A Part of The American Athletic Conference (AAC)

Reports from multiple sources are confirming the Connecticut Huskies are about to leave the American Athletic Conference (AAC) and join the Big East, leaving room for another school to move up the ranks.

The conference has a wide range of choices for a replacement, but most suspect a Conference USA school, since they operate in the same geographical regions and many of the current AAC schools were former C-USA schools.

Out of all the Conference USA schools, UNC Charlotte currently has the largest student body, the fastest growing roster, and arguably the most up-and-coming sports teams (including the recently added 49ers football).

Big East officials are now expected to formally announce the approval of UConn to their conference this coming Thursday at Madison Square Gardens.

What do you think Charlotte’s chances of moving up into the AAC are?

Do you think there’s a better choice out there?
