Top 5 Free Events in Charlotte This Week


The weather is cooling down in Charlotte and the fall festivities are starting to pop up.

There will be tons of free music and events all over the greater Charlotte region this coming week and weekend, we’ve selected some of the most popular and longest lasting in this week’s top 5 free events in Charlotte;

#1 Party in The Park – Wednesday

Charlotte uptown Bearden park concertUptown Charlotte’s most legendary party in the park is back this coming Wednesday. Romare Bearden’s Party in the Park will feature free live music, food, and plenty of interesting people watching.

Be sure to bring a lawn chair or blanket, and some walking shoes – the weather will be incredible.

The featured band will be Jim Quick and Coastline – Genuine Swamp Soul music.

#2 Alive After Five – Thursday

alive-after-five-300x198Simplified will be rocking out the Alive After Five stage at the top of the Epicenter this coming Thursday night for one of the last Alive After Fives of the summer.

The festivities begin around 6ish on Thursday evening, you can enjoy all the food, drink, and entertainment the Epicenter offers before and after the music gets started.


It’s always a major destination Uptown co-workers to gather, unwind, and network while enjoying great live music, tasty beverages and a fun, casual atmosphere.

#3 Union Street Live – Thursday

Bring your lawn chair and enjoy the free, outdoor Union Street Live concert in Downtown Concord this coming Thursday, August 20th starting at 6pm. The main stage will be right next to the historic Cabarrus County Courthouse – 65 Union Street, Concord, NC.

The featured band will be Jim Quick and Coastline – Genuine Swamp Soul music. Enjoy the evening by bringing your lawn chair and listening to the music, or walk around Union Street and enjoy outdoor food, games, shopping, entertainment.

#4 Movie in The Park – Friday

movie in southparkThis coming Friday, August 21st will be one of the last movie in the parks of the Summer, hosted at SouthPark.

The night will come complete with pre-movie live music, starting at 7 p.m., and the movies begin at dusk.

It is recommended that you bring lawn chairs and blankets.

#5 York County Summerfest – Saturday

york summerfestYork, SC’s historic downtown is about to host the 32nd annual Summerfest on Saturday, August 22nd, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Summerfest features lots of grand entertainment, tons of food, an antique car show, arts and crafts, children’s activities, a BMX show, and more.
