Yesterday afternoon the CMPD SWAT Team and the Bomb Unit blocked off a Pineville neighborhood and surrounded 808 Cone Avenue after an arson suspect barricaded himself inside the home.
A warrant was served at the home, but the suspect refused to comply or let police enter.

After a several-hour standoff, the SWAT Team shot accelerants into the home to subdue the suspect, then entered by force and arrested the suspect, according to CMPD officials.
The suspect was charged in this past December’s arson attempt at Chantilly Corner Studios on Shenandoah Ave.
Police have not yet released the name of the suspect.
