South Charlotte artist and mother of 3, Donna Heil, just had her oil painting go viral after last week’s protests following the death of Keith Lamont Scott.
She posted an image of her painting to her Facebook page and it almost immediately started being shared.
After it reached 1,500 shares, she commented, “Spreading love from Charlotte NC to Australia, England & across the globe. I am so grateful for this opportunity to be a part in this healing mission.”
The inspiration for the painting came as she was traveling to the Elizabeth neighborhood, she stopped on the Randolph Road bridge over Independence and snapped an incredible picture of the sunset behind the skyline. Donna also happened to notice an image of the two hands, one black, one white, forming a heart appear after the protests began. She painted the hands forming a heart over the skyline with the sunset and she knew she had a winner….but she had no idea it would become this viral (it’s now received over 1,900 shares)…
If you’d like to buy a print of the painting, you can check out all her print and canvas options here.
