Shooting Threat Shuts Down North Mecklenburg High School Tuesday Morning

Huntersville Police are currently responding to a possible shooting on the campus of North Mecklenburg High School.

The school is taking all precautions and has just went into full lockdown.

CMS has now released the following statement;

“North Meck families,

This is Principal Dellinger calling with an update from our school. This morning, an anonymous threat was made by telephone to our campus. As a precaution, our campus went on lockdown as is our standard procedure. Law enforcement is here to ensure safety, has not identified a credible threat and continues to investigate. All students and staff are safe and I will update information based on the results of this investigation by law enforcement.”

In addition to North Mecklenburg High School, Alexander Middle School and Blythe Elementary have also been put on lockdown as precautions.

Update 5/28/2019 12:30pm:

Authorities have now confirmed that the lockdown on all 3 Mecklenburg schools has been lifted and kids are now back in school.
