One of the largest senior living expansions in South Carolina is coming to Rock Hill. A $200 million project will more than double Park Pointe Village’s independent living community, add over 100 jobs and transform the campus into one of the premier retirement destinations in the Carolinas.

Leaders with Park Pointe Village broke ground on the expansion on July 31 after acquiring 109 additional acres next to the community off West Main Street, west of Northwestern High School.

“This is more than just an expansion, it’s a significant advancement of the Park Pointe Village lifestyle and the broader Rock Hill community,” said Jim Petty, Chief Strategy Officer for Acts Retirement-Life Communities in a press release. “We’re creating new ways for residents to connect, thrive, and live their best lives every day.”

Currently home to about 270 residents, the community will grow dramatically with plans that include:

  • 130 new independent living residences, including apartments and duplex carriage homes
  • An 18,000-square-foot clubhouse
  • New restaurants and indoor gathering spaces
  • Walking trails and pickleball courts
  • 20 new assisted living suites
  • A dedicated memory care neighborhood

Once completed, the expansion will create more than 100 new jobs and make Park Pointe Village one of the largest senior living developments in the Carolinas.

Park Pointe Village is operated by Acts Retirement-Life Communities, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit retirement community organizations. The Philadelphia-based company operates 28 communities across the eastern United States.

The investment builds on the community’s growing reputation. In 2025, Newsweek named Park Pointe Village one of America’s Best Continuing Care Retirement Communities, recognizing its quality of care, amenities and resident satisfaction.
