Rents are on the rise in Charlotte – April 2020 Charlotte Rental Report

In spite of rental rates flattening out across the nation, Charlotte’s rates have continued to increase at record paces.
ApartmentList.com just released their April 2020 rent report, showing the 4th straight month that our city has seen rent increases after a decline in November of last year.
Here are some of this month’s highlights for Charlotte:
  • Rents in Charlotte have increased 0.2% over the past month, and are up 2.5% year-over-year.
  • Charlotte’s median two-bedroom rent of $1,158 is below the national average of $1,197.
  • Over the past year, rent increases have been occurring not just in the city of Charlotte, but across the entire state – of the largest 10 cities that we have data for in North Carolina, 9 of them have seen prices rise.
