The second-largest movie theater chain in America (behind AMC) just announced that they will be closing all theaters across the country, including 6 here in the Charlotte area.
They made the announcement this week on Twitter, saying that they will be suspending all operations starting on October 8th:

The theaters they will be closing in Charlotte include:
- Gastonia, Regal Franklin Square
- Huntersville, Regal Birkdale & RPX
- Regal Cinebarre Arboretum
- Regal Phillips Place
- Regal Starlight
- Regal Stonecrest at Piper Glen
The closures will affect several hundred jobs around our region.
