President Trump is about to officially pardon 2 North Carolina turkeys during the 72nd annual National Thanksgiving Turkey Presentation next Tuesday afternoon at the White House.
The White House posted several pictures of the turkeys on their Facebook page with the caption:
“The Presidential Turkeys have arrived in DC! The two birds are settled in at The Willard Hotel after their trek from North Carolina and are resting up for the big ceremony on Tuesday.
Tune in tomorrow at 11 a.m. ET to learn the turkey’s names and to vote on which bird should be pardoned and named the official National Thanksgiving Turkey!”
The 2 male turkeys, ‘Bread’ and ‘Butter’, come from right here in the Tar Heel state by Butterball contractor Wellie Jackson on his farm in Clinton, NC (just east of Fayetteville).
He accompanied the two turkeys all the way up to Washington DC;
You can’t go on a road trip with your squad! @butterball grower Wellie Jackson and his son and @AmericanHumane’s Dr. Hoenig are driving up from North Carolina with the turkeys. #PresidentialTurkey #squadgoals pic.twitter.com/wzjQH54iTs
